Not that I know of. (I'm sure someone else will know if they did). I believe they worked with him on Coppelia. Though Marina & Cheryl Yeagar have the choreo credit.

Here's the photo I remember:https://www.facebook.com/Maia.AlexShibutani/posts/1152134581469802

May 2015. So this was during preparation for the 2015-2016 season.

You are right, thanks :). And God, with so many people involved It is totally useless to try to guess the style of their programs :wall:

I'm glad they're working with so many respected choreographers and dancers...but are any of them Latin/ballroom specialists? I feel like that's what they need most.

Now that we're in the mood to talk about Latin and the Shibs, which version of their 2011-2012 SD do you guys prefer?

First Version

Second Version

I know people criticized them a lot that season and didn't think Latin fit them, but I thought the second version of the SD was pretty good, especially compared to some of the SDs I rewatched that season. I really appreciated that they went for more of a party theme and carried a lot of energy and character (especially Alex who seemed to be seriously into the dance) throughout that dance. I did appreciate parts of the first version. The difference to me was that the first version came off as an intermediate dance tutorial while the second one was more like "eff it, we just want to have fun and dance."

I think what would have made that second version better is if they could have carried that energy and dance and character that they had throughout that dance into the side-by-side no touch circular footwork sequence as it became more about hitting the turns for those levels right then and there. It sort of made the SD lose some steam a bit I felt as it was nearly the last thing we saw in that program.

The second version is about 1 billion times better than the first. It's sharper, and their movements are actually hitting the beats of the music. They can really dance, which is excellent. If they bring that party atmosphere to this year's SD, and combine it with some really "Wow!" dance moves, that would be a good counter to those who will take the romance angle.

They are having a great time in New York :rollin:. When Maia and Alex say they are best friends, they are not exaggerating at all, they really enjoy to hang out together. They are very hard workers and they know how combine work with fun :respec:.

Here is a 30 minute video a fan filmed of their Envoy work in Korea where they worked with young skaters at an ice rink:

It's the same user who tweeted a clip of it. Nice to see that Alex and Maia are very natural with the kids.

Those were a lot of kids :slinkaway :scream:. Alex especially was truly in his coaching/kids mood, and the cameraman is totally into Alex :D. Probably they have another plans, but it would be great if they become in coaches , especially seeing how involved they are in their programs and coaching situation.

I've seen puppies, a kitten, and a baby goat & pig in NBC Olympics' PyeongChang shoot going on in LA (Hollywood) this week. ETA photos: https://twitter.com/TeamUSA/status/857381111277563904

The rink filming is going on at East West Palace in Artesia, Calif. today.
Ah thanks! It's a little confusing watching snippets here and there on social media and hard to tell what's really going on. Has it all been in LA then?

There is usually a really emotionally compelling reason for the opening ceremonies flag bearer selection. Someone who has overcome a disease or major life-challenge beyond the sport.

Also it depends if they are participating in the opening ceremony at all. A lot of the athletes competing in the team event don't walking in the opening ceremony since the competition starts only a couple days later and they want to save their bodies.
