For @Jeschke, belated update about Nagai from Tokyo Summer Competition (local competition) done in the end of Aug. It's great she took back her 3Lz-3T combo. Wish she'll win through to Nats.

Yuka Nagai's SP to River Dance: twitter report
3Lz3T FCSp LSp 2A 3Lo(fall) CCoSp StSq 52.39

FS to Cinderella: twitter report
3Lz2T 3Lz 3Lo LSp StSq 2A 3Lo2T2Lo CCoSp 1A 3S ChSq FCCoSp 108.74 161.13

She won a silver there below Akari Matsubara. Here is a photo of the podium. And here is a photo of her costume for Cinderella.

Tokyo regional is coming this weekend.

Fuji TV's twitter account posted photos from regionals.

Confirmed Risa Shoji is still skating and she won a silver at Kanto regional. It shows how weak the field of Kanto regional is. :p Whatever, congrats to Risa!

It says this is her final season. Seems she placed 1st in SP.

Since a couple seasons ago, Ryota Tamura is one of the skaters I've paid my attentions to. I read an article about his struggles with gender identity disorder. He feels uncomfortable to skate in men's field in a costume for men. Here is a photo of him on a podium for a bronze at Kanto regionals (men's Sr field).

And here is a photo in his daily life.

Wish things go in his favor and he'll feel more comfortable when he skates.

Found Tensho AKAMA won a silver (1 2 126.19) in the Jr field at Tohoku-Hokkaido regional.

I was drawn by his expressions or even his natural presence on the ice, when he skated with Mao to Jupiter at a charity show for supporting 3.11 victims. He is actually one of the kids from the affected areas. Wish he'll be able to jump when it counts, if he wants to continue skating in singles field. I can count on his expressions. Here is a video of Kensho skated with other kids from the 3.11 affected area. The little only boy is Kensho.

News of Nagai? :shuffle:
Eastern Sectional is ongoing. Nagai needs to win a podium (3rd or higher) to win through to Nationals. Today's SP she placed 5th and received 47.31 and the skater who placed 3rd received 50.34. Sounds 3 points distance is capable to catch up for Nagai if she skates well in FS. That said, she popped a 3Lo into 1Lo and got two Lv2s for spins and another Lv2 for stsq. I'm not sure whether we can see her skating at Nationals. Fingers crossed!

protocol (Nagai is 5th) https://www.jsfresults.com/National/2018-2019/fs_j/east/data0203.pdf
