Non appearance of forum threads started by a poster whom others might have on Ignore

This question has probably been asked before, and I apologize if it has.

Is there a way to modify the board settings so all threads in any forum will appear in that forum's thread listing, even if the original poster is on one's Ignore list?

The only way that I have been been aware of such threads is if that thread happens to be the one having the most recent post in any forum area.

I just had a situation with a duplicate thread on Muhammad Ali's passing that I would not have opened had I know that a thread on the topic already existed.
