I saw the free dance live in 2009. It was obviously the dance of the night. I hadn't paid them too much attention before, I was a B&A fan. Everything about that performance was gold medal worthy. Great night of skating.

Awww, congratulations to Charlie and Tanith!! I think most people suspected this might happen while in Hawaii. Here's wishing many, many years of happiness for them both!

This probably is one of the reasons for taking the year off from competition (among other reasons). Competition is a lot of time on small details and time is needed for getting a new home and a wedding perfect even when it's just in a support role Congrats Charlie and Tanith!! I love both of these people as a fan and I'm super happy for both!!

I am really looking forward to this, and I think they totally deserve a year off, particularly since Tanith & Charlie are now engaged.

I don't see why it would have been a bitter experience. Both D&W and V&M were excellent at the 2009 worlds, and I was there. They just narrowly missed the podium to a very good ice dance team. I personally loved D&W's Samson & Delilah just a bit more than V&M's FD but it was a toss up.

I have always seen that program as the launching pad for the rest of their careers.
ITA. It was a great launching pad for them.

I am really looking forward to the 2016 worlds now (even though I won't go to Boston- too far from where I am).
