It wouldn't be very PC to tweet about greedy Jews.

Uh, alright, I think that's going a little too far. Maybe she had a reason to tweet that. Or maybe she was just angry that her son is going through a tough time and lashed out. Patti is known to be very protective of Johnny. I wouldn't take it to anti-semitism. These conversations get ridiculous sometimes.

As the mother of a son I absolutely adore, the trick is to keep your mouth shut and give your opinion only when asked. Johnny's a big boy--he can fend for himself.

Does anyone follow Victor? I can't read his tweets now that he's set them to private. What has he been tweeting lately? He tweeted just about an hour ago. What did he say?

How can you tell he tweeted? I follow him, so I just checked, and I don't see anything. Maybe he deleted it. He tweeted that he has a new apartment. That's the only reference he has made to this whole thing. Also, lots of pics of their dog. Not sure who has the dog.

I saw his name pop up as a new tweet in the feed about an hour ago, now it's gone.

Sad to hear this news, but not altogether surprised. Johnny seemed so excited and hopeful about this relationship. He always seems to have a hard time trusting people and letting them in. This probably won't do wonders for that now.

He deletes a lot of tweets. But...in the feed? Does that mean he tweeted something to Johnny? (Sorry, I'm not very technically savvy.)

I feel bad for Johnny. I hope things don't get ugly. But to quote ABBA's Agnetha Faltskog: "There's no such thing as a happy divorce."

Well, this is certainly serious skating news. Surprised that this thread isn't in The Trash Can.

I don't see how anyone could take Patti's tweet as anti Semitic, obviously she feels her soon to be ex-son in law took advantage of her son.

On the positive side, Johnny has succeeded in becoming a celebrity and living life in the fast lane.

I can't think of any other skater whose divorce was/would be covered by Access Hollywood.

I don't know what the laws are in NJ. Maybe Patti meant that Johnny had to make some kind of settlement? Stinks if Johnny earned $$$ and he didn't (wasn't he unemployed?) but gets to have some of JW's earnings. Divorce is horrible. And hurts both parties. Sounds like Johnny was wise to get out ASAP. And hopefully he will find happiness and/or another and (says wise old me) not rush things next time.

Access Hollywood belongs to the NBC family and Johnny worked with them in Sochi and at the Oscars. He also said Billy Bush has been very supportive of him and Tara, so I'd imagine it is a relatively comfortable setting to talk about an uncomfortable situation.

And I think it's safe to say he did make some $$$. Johnny has had a really great year so far with work and the jobs he's landed. He also had a good 2013 work-wise. He was all over the place. Things really began to click for Johnny when he switched his representation from Tara Modlin. It will suck for him if he ends up really losing out in a settlement.

Especially when one of the divorcing couple is a lawyer

Whatever he saved or acquired during the marriage would be marital property that would have to be shared "equitably" with his spouse (most likely--it depends on each state's laws). If the spouse didn't work, he would probably have to, for a time, pay some alimony. Marriage is not something to be taken lightly (not saying that Johnny did). It adds a whole set of legal rights and obligations that unmarried couples would not have.

That seems so unfair in this case, assuming Victor didn't work. Johnny not only worked his butt off but also did all the housework. They often spoke about how Johnny did the cooking and cleaning and laundry.
