Figure Skating Coach dies in plane crash

    http://triblive.com/news/adminpage/5...#axzz2viN5bsQA

I didn't recognize his name, but from what I googled, he was a former student under Mishin and coached in Pennsylvania.

Did a quick search online - Igor Novodran (should his name be added in the thread title?) previously coached British skater Harry Mattick in Pittsburgh, PA through the 2012-13 season. He also was listed as Amani Fancy's singles coach last season before she switched to pairs.

He was a guest coach in Newark, Delaware last summer: http://www.pondfsc.com/news/summer20...scampatthepond

From a 2011 article about Mishin's camps in Europe: http://www.absoluteskating.com/index...ishingachinski
Mishin is also known to value team work and appreciate the people that he works with. Members of his team include his wife Tatyana Mishina, his former pupils Oleg Tataurov and Igor Novodran and also Svetlana Veretennikova, Svetlana Prokofjeva and Sergei Yugarov.
Condolences to his family, friends, and anyone in the skating community who knew him.

    Very tragic.

Wow, sudden sad news, my sympathies to his family and friends - this news follows the death of another skating coach, Boris Uspenski, who died last week in the UK. He had been suffering from cancer for quite a while http://www.iceskating.org.uk/node/6827

I have met Igor Novodran at several occasions, he was a very nice man. How sad.

A skating coach/aviation enthusiast. I respect his diverse interests. It could be a while before they determine the cause of the crash. Eventually they will publish the investigation results.

Still trying to process this - can't believe we won't be seeing him again and can't imagine the shock to his family. So sad.
