I think this must have been a given. How many elite sports "teams" are there in Canada where all the members are from Ontario?

Let's list some elite team sports from Canada. There is ice dance pairs, hockey, curling, bobsled, yup I think that is probably it this year. All of Jennifer Jones curling team is from Manitoba so they automatically don't qualify. The bobsled team is from Calgary/PEI so they are disqualified. The hockey team is from all across Canada so they don't all count as Ontarians. So that only leaves V/M as the only Ontarians remaining. Default choice

I may have spoke too soon. It seems like they beat the men's curling team, Brad Jacobs, for that team award.

Actually, I figured Team Jacobs would get it as OGM's. Then again, V/M got two medals in Sochi.

Saw a funny tweet from Ryan Fry that he and Jacobs, and the Harndens would each pair up for ice dance in 2018! Now that would be something to see!

I want to add about Marina Zoueva interview. Siobhan KARAM / Joshua McGRATH worked with Igor too, when they become Canadian junior national champion. Yes, according to this they were team uo by Marina in 1997, but they won medals after they moved to DSC
And i think they were cute team.

Then DW. All know, its was Igors babies, he lead them on the top, when a lot off people didnt pay attention to this team. But now - this is Zoueva team and she worked with them 13 years. What is going on?

Looks like a recent interview to me. I thought last year there was an article that said that Tessa shared an apartment with her mom in Canton? Would make sense for Kate to do laundry, etc if she were.

According to Marina, D/W already won three WCs. What's new there?

I don't know. In the reality show they said Kate lives in London, but just comes to visit Tessa.

Thanks. On twitter it seems they performed their encore to the Japanese songs. From earlier reports it seems like the costumes they're wearing here are from Into the Mystic.

I don't understand why Marina has to talk bad about V/M and their skills in every interview. She never did that to D/W when V/M won in Vancouver. She needs to remove the foot from her mouth... V/M have every right to be mad about her.

You worked with Gordeeva/Grinkov for 13 years, Davis/White - 13, Virtue/Moir - 10. How do you not bore each other in such a long time?
In what reality has Marina been with D/W three years longer than V/M? Everything I have read in previous years has always stated that V/M were training at least a couple of years with Marina before she took on D/W. Who has changed the narrative? and why?

    From Icenetwork --
Davis and White, the reigning four-time U.S. champions and 2011 world champions, had trained under Zoueva and Shpilband since 2006.
That is NOT 13 years with Marina but 8. Neither were they 13 at that time as one person suggested to me. In the fall of 2006, Meryl would have already been 19 and Charlie would have been 18 almost 19 (his birthday is in October).

OTOH, V/M have been with Marina for 10 years, having been with her since 2004-05 season (this article doesn't quite pinpoint the exact date). That would have put them at ages 15 (Tessa) and 17 (Scott).

So again, I have to wonder. Did someone not bother to do their homework? Did Marina not really listen to the question or did she not choose to correct how long she was coach to each of these pairings? For as much as I have respected Marina and her work, to me this just adds to the list of slights by this woman. It's like she put V/M under the bus last season and then took this season to run them over a few times. I find this incredible considering she has been coach to what is likely the best dance couple she will likely ever coach.
    Crazy about sports!

Deb, Marina is nuts. I think she thinks Tessa and Scott blame her because she came across as a bit defensive when she said she did everything she could for them. I hope they never talk to her again. It's interesting that when they went to pack up their things they made sure she wouldn't be there.

Is it true that Zoueva spat in the face of Elena Tchaikovskaya when she was her student? I have read this a few times in the past but cannot confirm this is true or not.

I think, it's sad that the relationship between Tessa& Scott and Marina became so sour, especially since they stayed with her, because of their special relationship.
Anyway, so any chance Tessa & Scott would continue? There are other coaches out there and I would die for them doing a Paso Doble SD.

She choreographed for D/W when they were with their previous coach. That's what she means by "with", doing any work and not just being the main coach. She says the same about Kozuka, even though he has never trained with her, only had choreography.
