The Grand Budapest Hotel has quite a cast. I've read no reviews but that one has to go on my list just to see all those actors together in one film.
I hear outside a million panicking birds, and know even out there comfort is done with; it has shattered even the stars, this creature at last come home to me.

After 37 reviews, it has an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. "In terms of quirk and whimsy, the film is liberally perfumed," says one reviewer.

I have seen the trailer multiple times and I didn't think I would care for it. I hate comedy based on silly and big actions. Still, the cast may get me into the theater. Then I will see if I can sit through it or not.

    Others that interested me were

Divergent (saw that trailer like a hundred times in theaters! I have started closing my eyes every time it comes up on the screen ). However, this means I am stuck for 3 years since it's a trilogy. I may just read the books in one month, like I did for the Hunger Games.

Captain America (for Scarlett Johansson), Cesar Chavez, Million dollar arm, and may be Dom Hingway (for Jude Law) and Veronica Mars (for James Franco)

IMO, the first book was not bad, the 2nd book truly awful, and the 3rd one mostly bad but with a handful of good moments. The only similarity between this trilogy and the Hunger Games one is their popularity. (Well, and teen girl protagonist, and a dystopian society.) Hunger Games is better in every possible way you can name, including depth of character and story, and wide audience appeal.

That being said, I'm actually thinking the movies might be half-decent for the Divergent trilogy. There's a good story in there somewhere, but Roth wasn't able to write it.

The two I'm most looking forward to are X-Men and Muppets. With Mr. Peabody & Sherman a close runner-up. But I don't know much about a lot of the lesser-known titles in those lists.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a Wes Anderson film so I will be watching it but I will probably have to wait until it comes out on DVD & BluRay. My town was too small to get Veronica Mars in theatre, nearest place was Edmonton and thats kind of pushing it just for a movie, fortunately I backed the Kickstarter so I will be getting it digitally on the same day so I'll still be able to watch it fairly quickly after March 14.
I'll definitely be going to Muppets Most Wanted but I'll probably have to wait for my mom and I to have the same evenings free to go to it.
I'll definitely be seeing the new Captain America, Spider-Man and X-Men movies as well as Transcendence and Godzilla. Those are all ones that I'll end up seeing with my brother. We try to go to all the geeky movies together.
I'm mostly interested in Transcendence because it's Wally Pfister's directorial debut, it does have a really cool concept too and I am willing to forgive the casting of Johnny Depp considering the rest of the cast is pretty solid. I've loved Wally Pfister's cinematography in the Christopher Nolan films, especially Inception, even if you hate the movie you have to admit it at least looked good.
The end of spring/beginning of summer is always really busy for me movie wise. I really like seeing the blockbusters in theatre and frequently the smaller movies don't get here during the year so I have to wait for them to crop up online of until they come out on DVD & Bluray.

I really don't want to see ANY of those movies. Bummer. If I had to pick, I guess I would see Divergent just to see what the fuss is about. I got the book and never even cared enough to finish it.

I forgot about Walk of Shame, besides Elizabeth Banks (whom I also love, Peter G,) it also has Gillian Jacobs from Community. It looks like it could be good for a few laughs.

Saw Dallas Buyers Club today. Excellent movie. McConaughy and Leto should get the Oscars. I love movies that make me want to learn more about the background behind the story so I can look further into it. Really fascinating.

Saw the preview for Grand Budapest Hotel as well - that looked really quirky and I love Ralph Fiennes. But I was surprised to see who was in it. Big cast list.

Thank you putting in all the effort, Peter

I want to watch almost all of the movies in the poll

    300: Rise of an Empire
    Divergent
    Mr. Peabody & Sherman
The Grand Budapest Hotel - Looking good
Noah - I was about to pass on this one, but then I saw that the director is Darren Aronofsky... I'd watch anything he makes... But, why this story?
    Captain America: The Winter Soldier
    Rio 2
    Transcendence
    The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Godzilla - After Pacific Rim, I have a lot of reservation about this one... Do Godzilla really need a remake?
X-Men: Days of Future Past - I think this one tops the list for me.
    Maleficent

So many movies, so little time I see your list is even longer than mine, Peter

The movies I want to watch are:
    Godzilla
    Captain America
    Maleficent
    Veronica Mars

    On the bubble:
    Noah
    300
    Grand Budapest Hotel

    Definitely taking a pass:
X-Men - so sick of this franchise and wolverine in particular
Anything with Johnny Depp's name attached to it.
Spider-Man 2 - loved the remake but fear this one is just not gonna live up to...
Divergent - looks ok but I've had my fill of teen movies

I am also thankful you put this together because I would never find all the gems that don't make it to my small town. I know a lot of people felt that Monuments Men was a dud, but I would love to see it. Am still waiting for it. My husband always asks what the figure skating board thinks about any movie we decide to see.

On an entirely different note. What is with all the religious themed movies coming out. I know that supposedly there is a ready-made audience for them, but geez.

And an additional different note. Johnny Depp is one of the nicest public people. He filmed in this area of Wisconsin and was very tolerant and kind.
I like to encourage this behavior.

So many good movies to watch! Looking forward to a lot of these. I'm torn on Noah though; I've been an Aronofsky fan since The Fountain but I may have an irrational dislike of Emma Watson. It mostly stems from Hermione getting all of Ron's good lines in the HP movies, which I know isn't exactly her doing...but yeah.

The Veronica Mars movie will be available online at the same time as theaters and given the choice between a movie theater and at home in my bed with Thai food and no pants, I know what I'm picking.

    Excited!

Thanks for the thread as usual PeterG

I think there may end up being some backlash from the Christians in relation to Noah. My moms been reading some stuff about it and apparently there is a very strong "save the environment" theme running through it. Since Christians get very up in arms anytime something looks like its being changed from what the Bible says there could be a lot of very annoyed Bible thumpers when the movie comes out.
I don't really care what happens with Noah. Like lmarie086, they pretty much lost me when they cast Emma Watson. But it's not so much because of Harry Potter. I just don't think she's a very good actress. I'm also not really a Russell Crowe fan so that wasn't really a big draw for me either.
"I think I saw what happens next It was just a glimpse of you Like looking through a window Or a shallow sea Could you see me? And after all this time It's like nothing else we used to know After all the hangers-on are done Hanging on to the dead lights Of the afterglow" Afterlife - Arcade Fire
