    Can't wait for that!

I think the music from the 2005 Russian miniseries of the Master and Margarita has some really good skating music, particularly the tracks for Satan's Ball and Woland's Theme. Everything looks epic to that music (and whoever hasn't seen this series should at least check out the fire dance scene, it is everything). I think there have been a handful of junior skaters using this music in recent years such as the US dance team Elliana Pogrebinsky and Ross Gudis. I can picture Satan's Ball working for Stolbova/Klimov (kind of comedic music) and Radionova using Woland's theme one day once she gets a little more power. I even tried out watching her Nationals fs while muting her music and playing Woland's theme - it works, she could even keep the same dress!

I wish skaters would use some Asian-themed music (not Memoirs of a Geisha). The Lover's Theme from House of Flying Daggers is exquisite:

The "Game of Thrones" soundtracks are quite awesome as well. I always get goosebumps during the Opening

Some Bollywood music. I remember how well it worked for D&W a few years ago (was it at the 2010 Olympics?)

    YES YES YES.

    DEAR SKATERS OF THE WORLD,

Please start skating to BSG! Please! The music is amazing and there are SO many emotive possibilities within a wide variety of programs!

    In particular:

Roslin & Adama - A gorgeous, slow, lyrical waltz about the most perfect, heartbreaking romance in fictional history, IMO.

Diaspora Oratorio - Probably the most amazing track in all of BSG, with a truly epic finale.

Prelude To War - There are about 50 different ways you could cut this and all would be amazing! There are so many choreography possibilities here. Fast, emotive battle music with a lot of other emotions and nuances throughout.

A mix up of The Shape Of Things To Come, Allegro, and Violence and Variations - All similar, but with very notable differences that could create a very cool full program.

Resurrection Hub - Bittersweet, with an underlying unease that could make for some cool choreography.

AND SO MANY OTHERS. McCreary's version of All Along The Watchtower could be a wonderful exhibition too! Please consider using BSG!

Michiruwater, to the tracks you posted.

I would also add Baltar's Dream and Passacaglia.

This link is a combination of

Passacaglia and The Shape of Things to Come (the changeover starts at 3:54)

    More mainstream choices:
    - Beethoven's Last Night
    - New World Symphony
    - Demasiado Corazon (NOT Historia de un Amor, god!!)
    - Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in d minor
    - La Campanella
    - Legends of the Fall
    - The Can-can
    - Gliere's Harp Concerto

    Less mainstream or used:
    - I'd like to see skaters try more heavy metal (i.e. Opeth, Disillusioned) but I imagine it's hard to pull off.
    - Balinese Gamelan
    - Ojos Asi by Shakira
    - Van Halen
    - Indian music (i.e. Kaetlyn Osmond style)

I meant to include Passacaglia with the other three, so thank you for pointing that out!

Beethoven's last night was used by Anissina-Peizerat in 2001

New world symphony was used by the Siudeks - I don't remember the year.

Legends of the fall was used by Vanessa Gusmeroli, I think.

    Can-can was used by Mishkutenok-Dmitriev

I agree those are rarely used musics though.

Yeah, these were all pieces used by skaters. I just wished some of these were used more often.

    Polovetsian Dances
    Fantasie Impromptu
Carmina Burana--so many interesting/fun/beautiful pieces. One lyrical piece is this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAsjemjEtqk) Torvill and Dean Skating to it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loO0Zeq33O8
Nimrod Variation 9 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUgoBb8m1eE) I think Andrea Gardner skated to it a loooong time ago. Remember her?

OMGoodness. Huge fan of BSG soundtrack. Did you know that Bear is doing the soundtracks for the Starz' series Black Sails and Davinci's Demons.

Here is the black sails theme

Anything by Trevor Morris(Pillars of the Earth Soundtrack, The Tudors, Vikings, The Borgias, The Immortals Soundtrack

E.S.Posthumus - Almost anything. But my favorites are 1. Elba from Unearthed CD 2. Unstoppable from Makara CD

I'm a gamer and the music for video games over last few years has been incredible.

Woodkid - The Golden Age is a great CD but Iron(used by papadikis and Cizeron for their long program). Iron and The Golden Age were used for the game Assassins Creed - Revelations a few years ago. The song I love you is my favorite though. I love you(CD version) and I love you(quintent version)

    Imagine Dragons Radioactive

Two Steps from Hell(group), song Protectors from Hell -

    Movie soundtracks:

Expect skaters to use music from the movies Pompeii(Clinton Shorter), I Frankenstein(JOhnny Klimek).

    Jazz:

Brother Ray by David Sanborn. I would be a difficult piece of music to skate to but the music could just guide the choreography.

I would just love for more people to skate to contemporary music. I love classical music, but i don't think it's necessarily superior. I don't think there needs to be this huge exhibition-competitive program music gap.
