The Road to Sochi - jumping advancements in ladies' skating

From memory, almost half of the ladies' field at next month's Games in Sochi may be attempting triple / triple combinations in the short program.

So far, the skaters I can think of that have attempted triple / triple combinations (ratified or otherwise) this season are:

    Yuna Kim / KOR - 3lutz/3toe
    Akiko Suzuki / JPN - 3toe/3toe
    Kaetlyn Osmond / CAN - 3toe/3toe
    Gabrielle Daleman / CAN - 3lutz/3toe
    Adelina Sotnikova / RUS - 3toe/3toe
    Julia Lipnitskaia / RUS - 3lutz/3toe
    Polina Edmunds / USA - 3lutz/3toe
    Ashley Wagner / USA - 3flip/3toe
    Gracie Gold / USA - 3lutz - 3toe
    Kanako Murakami - JPN - 3toe/3toe
    Carolina Kostner - ITA - 3toe/3toe
    Mae Berenice Meite - FRA - 3toe/3toe
    Valentina Marchei - ITA - 3sal/3toe
    Kexin Zhang - CHN - 3toe/3toe
    Elena Glebova - EST - 3toe/3toe

Mao Asada of Japan is still a question mark. Though it is possible she is planning a triple flip/triple toe loop.

Amazing and exciting. After watching in dismay as ladies jump difficulty stagnated from 1993-2006*, it's thrilling to witness it back on track. (*save for Tara and Irina)

Interesting. I don't see any 3loop/3toe. Looking outside this season, has any lady done that one? (I know Tara did the very difficult 3loop/3loop but that might not hold up under UR scrutiny in COP era).

Sammi Cesario attempted the 3loop/3loop in her short but I don't think it was ever ratified.

I believe OP was also referring to athletes that will be competing at the games.

Also, I believe Mao will be sticking to her 3A/3F/3Lo+2Lo jump layout for the short; going for 3A vs. 2A is more valuable than doing a triple-triple I believe, seeing as she could not execute a 3F+3Lo in the short if her solo jump is a 3Lo.

Radionova did it on the Grand Prix when she made mistake on her lutz, so she landed 3Lo-3T instead of 3Lz-3T

Sokolova. She did a GREAT one at 1997/8 Nationals, but the one she did at Nagano Olympics was badly cheated.

Some place competitive and athletic, but ultimately more like an audition than anything else.

I remember when Surya did a 3T/3T at the 1998 Olympics, and Scott basically said it was too easy ... but it was of the few clean triple-triples in that competition.

Mao is having problems with loop nnow, used to be her oldest friend

Adelina also doing 3Flz-3Lo , got credited at GPF I think

ITA. Besides, based on the list, there are only a handful of skaters who attempt a combo more difficult than a 3T-3T.
