As I said in the other thread:
Mirai is going to be at Skate America!!!! And the Shibutani's! I am SO freaking excited. So glad I have tickets

It is really interesting to see the list. So many retirements. It will be exciting to see who establishes themselves on the top now!

Boo, Ilinykh & Zhiganshin won't be facing Sinitsina & Katsalapov. I was hoping for some early season drama.

Did Carron/Jones retire & no one noticed? They aren't on the list. But Berton/Hotarek are, so hopefully they aren't actually splitting!

How did Vanessa Lam get selected? I don't think she had a season beat score from last season?

I heard that some Senior B scores were counted for SB - that's supposedly how Carriere qualified for a GP (his SLC Sr B 225+ score).

I guess Lubov didn't get her release as no I&M for Canada in pairs. That's too bad.

I'm sooo happy Ladies & Men are back to 12 spots but really bummed that Ice Dance is still stuck with only 8 entries. ISU really doesn't want Ice Dance to develop.

Are there really enough ice dance teams for 12 at each competition? Who should be on the GP that isn't? (I'm being honest here. Is there a deserving team that got left off?)

Very happy to see Michael Christian Martinez with an assignment, and Hurtado/Diaz with two! I hope they can come up with something cool to follow up that amazing Picasso FD.

Having 12 entries again in singles is great and will provide skaters from non-host countries with more opportunities. I am all for it.

ETA: and Menshov back for another season! Will he skate forever?

Other than dance (shibs are only ones I'd love to see) the SA lineup looks great. Cup of Russia's dance competition should be veeeerrrrry interesting for Russian AND USA teams, what with Hawayek/Baker coming up from junior.

TEB dance entries are absolute perfection and I'm not going.
