Amazing and secure! Better than any lutz I saw her land at Nationals. I hope her boot problems are behind her.

Very nice! She like the rest of the American ladies are going to have to step it up in the transitions department. The shorter entrance allows all of the preceding steps to flow better b/c there isn't that pause in the setup for the lutz. That's one thing about a lot of the Russian girls (Adelina, Julia): their steps flow from one element to the next without long pauses before the jumps.

Beautiful. I really like her spirit, and hope she can translate her abilities into finishing her moves, and some nuance.

Oh - I actually think her musicality is extremely sophisticated. Her programs were age appropriate, and she stepped right up to a huge stage and delivered.
Her technique appears extremely secure. I suspect as she fills out, she will be able to easily adapt.

And I do think people who shoot up are lucky. Maybe not in skating, but in life. I stopped growing in the 6th grade, save for a random 3/4 of an inch my senior year of high schoo.
Oh and how we could argue this. I was always the tallest. It is great when you are 20, but horrid when you are towering over all the boys.

That's not what I am talking about though.

    Very nice!!!

Now please let your hair go back to its natural shade, Courtney. Pretty please? (Just not a fan of the peroxide blonde on her, sorry.)

Wow, that was gorgeous, and I am loving the Walley jumps into it!

The 3S/illusion/flying camel is awesome, too. I really like what I'm seeing from Courtney so far.

As it stands now, it looks like Gold, Wagner, and Edmunds will all be in the same seeded group for the GP (could change if Kostner retires). It would be interesting if they don't go head-to-head until nationals or perhaps the GP final. I'm looking forward to seeing how they stack up this next season!

^I think it would be great if they don't go head to head and thus get that chance to shine as #1 seed for the US in their respective competitions. That would probably boost each of their chances of getting to the GPF

Mao is out for next season (at least). Kim and Suzuki are retired. IF Caro retires, I think the coming season will be Russia-heavy w/ the U.S. ladies as their primary challengers. Osmond might pull it together and be another one to watch.

Does anybody know why Gracie doesn't do her 3/3/3 in competition? Is it too hard or is there a rule against it?

Has there been a man to try this jump?

I wonder if a 3-3-3 would limit the jumps she can do on other passes (due to Zayak rule), so it isn't worth it?

Why wouldn't she try it just to be "the first" in a fluff competition?

Probably. I don't see why someone like KVP couldn't have pulled it off. The men usually aren't self-absorbed enough to video tape it in order to show it off to the cyber world
