Isn't Sotnikova gonna go Lipinski soon?
Injuries only happen at the Olys? I'm pretty sure that two weeks after SLC if asked my opinion on Yag's future, I'd never have guessed "yeah, he'll be toast in less than year".
I could see thinking that Adelina is a better skater than Sarah, but what's that got to do with longevity. Sarah was a rock solid top 7 worlds finisher for 5 straight years. Didn't she make and or medal at the GPF every year she skated. She flutzed, URed and arm flailed her way to one of skating's most consistent careers. Adelina's the one who vaulted from 9th to 1st in 11 months time. Sounds more like Shiz to me.
Adelina's just starting her career as a real top skater after many wonderful skaters retired, such as Mao, Caro and Akiko as of the Worlds. I wish she'll skate a couple more quads and transform into a real matured artistic skater. In addition she has a sister who needs costly medical treatments. So I assume she will not retire after winning the FIRST OGM. ;P

"'Is this new BMW-designed sled the ultimate sledding machine for Langdon and Holcomb?' Leigh Diffey asked before the pair cruised to victory. I don’t know, but I know that sled is the ultimate Olympic Games product placement.." -- Jen Chaney
I was going to say that Sotnikova kind of came out of nowhere like Baiul, but then I remembered Baiul won Worlds '93. I don't dislike Sotnikova, but she certainly is the most previously undecorated women's Olympic champion we've had in a long time. Heck, in the fall I was considering freakin' Pogorilaya and Radionova better than her.
Sotnikova said in a press reliese that she will go for more gold: worlds gold, european gold, gpf gold and all you can take. She will work hard and get it
Is this this thread about retirements or just another anti-Sotnikova thread?
