*twitch* Unless she's somehow descended from his siblings, she's not. If she was a Lee, she's related to Washington's stepchildren, the Custises. (Robert E. Lee married Washington's "granddaughter", Mary Custis, but Washington had no biological offspring.)
^^ Thanks for that clarification. Genealogy can be mighty complicated and confusing, and that's no lie. I was speaking from having seen the admittedly sparse genealogical chart in the Lady Catherine book by The Countess of Carnavon. It was unclear re the possible very distant relationship to George Washington. Apparently, according to the chart, there are two indirect connections to George Washington through Lady Catherine's mother. In any case, Lady Catherine's maternal relationship to Robert E. Lee is unquestionable, despite his not being a direct antecedent either.
