Here are their PCS since the 2009-2010 season – minus nationals; there is nothing there that suggests they were dumped. Stellar performances got higher PCS and abysmal performances didn’t. Most are pretty consistent with what they have always received and deserved based on the way they skated. Most of the lower PCS are because they had bad performances, you have to skate well to earned high scores, just because someone got them before doesn't mean they will always deserve them. When they did poorly at last year's GPF and Euros the judges were harsh (as they should be) but they gave them what they deserved at Worlds and PCS reflected that.

Holy cow! She's so good! She's so young that she's still got some baby fat. I love how big and high her jumps are! And she also has great spins (good centering, speed, positions), and is fairly musical and expressive. Wow, she's really got everything. Russia might be dominating ladies' skating for years and years to come, especially if they've got more little ones they'll be continuing to produce year after year! And I don't see why not, given they obviously have great coaching and a big talent pool to draw from, and if the Russian girls do well in Sochi (I think it's likely they'l at least get one medal), FS will only get more popular there.

She is so good already for how young she is, it will be great to watch her grow.

Her skating is absolutely gorgeous. I'm out of words.

One just has to wonder what it is that they do differently in Russia to produce so many amazing (junior) ladies at the moment. Their junior field is so far above the rest of the world that there has to be a reason - or a combination of reasons. One thing is probably the crazy number of practice hours, and another reason the environment, which, I imagine, is more disciplined than in most other countries.

It may have to do with the popularity of the sport there. Many years ago I had read that they watch young skaters to identify talent. I am not sure why it's not working for the boys/men though. I suspect they opt for Hockey instead of FS.

This one too, I've not heard of and thought she was pretty good. She's all legs right now but she gets great lift in the jumps given she's not going that fast.
    She's only 12 I think.

Wow! Lovely skating and her footwork *out* of the landing of the double axel was just wonderful: one-foot landing with a beautiful running edge and a series turns on the landing leg. I don't remember seeing something like this before! Does anyone know of other examples of a skater doing footwork out of a jump landing?

Funny enough there are 2 Anastasias Gubanovas....
One skating pairs with Sintsov, Anastasia A. Gubanova

Other is this one, singles. Anastasia V. Gubanova.

Anastasia V. is wonderful, she was quite wonderful even 1-2 years ago.

However, I suspect that given her "body type" she will gain weight fairly soon, and her flexibility will slightly diminish with age, like Carolina Z and Marai N....

we don't know her "body type" yet at 11 years old
for all we know those could just be baby fat

she has excellent basics like her skating skills and good jump technique
so she could still do well even if she gets a "Caroline Z." body type and gains weight

and here is Gubanova's FS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhwKKMP1dMk
not sure how you assess she will gain weight and become like Caroline Zhang
imo, the technique is way different from the two and do we really know her body type is at 11 or 12 years old ?

But her coach knows... that this girl does not have a lean torso and that her waist-line is rather wide. That's why the costumes are designed to slim-down the waistline.. even if she is 10-11....

Well if that's her body type then there's not much she can do to fight it... she has talent so she should focus on honing her skills as much as she can. Maybe she'll become a more powerful type of skater like Ito or Slutskaya.

    Gubanova is divine. Love her

No surprise, but Tarasova/Morozov, Vigalova/Zakroev & Davankova/Deputat will represent Russia at Junior Worlds. Zakroev also mentions that Vigalova injured her tailbone during practice after Russian Nationals, so their practice time was cut a bit short so they are pleased with the silver medal.
