Tessa & Scott - new show on W network in Canada

Just say an advert on W for a show called Tessa & Scott which premieres Thursday January 2nd at 8 pm Eastern.

"An all access look into the making of the Canadian dream team."

Aside from Tessa and Scott posing while holding a picture frame in front of their faces and dancing (not on ice) across the screen no other info given in this ad. Don't know if it is some sort of short series or if premiere just refers to the first time a one-shot special airs on this cable channel.

    It's a six-part series - more info, plus a link to the 30-second trailer: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/w-netw...181000751.html
    Excerpt:
"With this series we are able to give W Network viewers an up close and personal look at what it's really like to be world class athletes - on and off the ice. It's a fascinating and complex world," said Vibika Bianchi, Vice President, Original Programming, Women's and Family Television, Corus Entertainment. "Audiences will find themselves completely enamoured with this duo as we watch their personal and professional struggles and triumphs throughout their season and into the final months leading up to the Sochi Olympic games."

Tessa & Scott (6x30) goes behind closed doors and into the exhilarating day-to-day lives of Canada's irresistible duo. As the series premieres the charismatic couple is faced with challenges they could have never imagined following their Olympic win in Vancouver in 2010. They are tasked with negotiating their insane schedules and staying connected with each other while fighting their way back to the top of the podium after placing second at the 2013 ISU World Figure Skating Championships®. From training in Canton, Michigan where they share a coach with their biggest on-ice rivals, to public appearances, to skating in competitions in Saint John, New Brunswick and Paris, France , the series gives audiences a unique window into the stressful and highly competitive world of ice dancing.
"Randy [Starkman (1960-April 16, 2012)] lived by the same motto as the rest of us. The Olympics isn’t every four years, it’s every single day. He just got it." --Canadian Olympic kayaker Adam van Koeverden

Love the Trailer. Thanks for posting it, Angelskates. I wish we could see the show in the US, but I don't think there's any way to see it.

Are there any other videoclips (geoblocked) on the official site for the show? http://www.wnetwork.com/shows/tessa-scott

Yes, thanks for pointing it out.

There's a clip about skates, talking about blades.

And a One on one with Tessa:

    Fave movie?
    Princess Bride

    3 items in your purse
Passport, lip gloss, something from my grandma’s car that has the saying,
'Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.'

Something you can’t leave home without?
    My blackberry

    First concert?
    Nsync

    Fave fashion designer?
    Chanel

    Dream vacation?
South of France, staying in villas, drinking rose, driving place to place at my leisure.

    Must have travel accessory?
A scarf, it’s always cold on planes.

    Last time you laughed?

    Phobias?
    I'm terrified of spiders.

    Biggest splurge?
Chanel safety pin, bought in Toyko.

Another sport you want to try?
I’d like to play tennis, mostly for the outfits.

    Dream dinner guest?
    Audrey Hepburn

    Fave viral video?
Scott just showed me the ‘what does the fox say’ video, hilarious.

Just finished watching the first episode. I really like it! They're pretty candid with what they say and seem to be giving a pretty honest inside look into their lives. Can't wait for the next episode!

Interesting doco. Really enjoyed seeing their training.

Was, however, reminded of the doco Torvill & Dean did before the 1994 Olympics (incidentally, another ice dance couple with a platonic relationship).

I loved the show last night. There were a few moments where you definitely felt them being self-conscious at the presence of the cameras (esp. Tessa), but overall I thought it was a more honest portrayal than anything else of that nature I've seen. I'm very much looking forward to the next installment.
