Just got back from a trip to New Zealand. Booked my tickets through Air New Zealand. I was international business class on their airline and they booked me first-class United for the domestic portion of the flight. I had a long layover in L.A. on the way back and went to United's lounge and was denied entry. I've never heard of a first class domestic ticket not being eligible for their lounge. They claimed that either I needed to have an international business class on their airline (not a partner airline) or a gold card to enter the lounge. Anybody else ever had this problem? I was furious because Air New Zealand said this combo made me lounge-eligible.
