Are Canadian skaters & coaches big gamblers? Is it traditional to book Skate Canada in the vicinity of a casino?

Meagan Duhamel was playing poker for a really long time one night, but it wasn't just the Canadians, they were all there - well, the ones that were old enough.

Yes, Megan Duhamel strikes me as a risk taker.

I think I read that Paul Poirier was there too, yes?

Do you just have to be 18 to go into a casino? I thought it might be 21, but maybe it's just 18. I don't gamble myself, and am pushing 40, so I have no idea.

I booked a room at the Delta, and I booked a room for Skate America because I can't decide. Porter flies from Sudbury to Chicago, and is half the cost of Sudbury to Kelowna. Skate America tickets are much more expensive, though, yes?

I can't decide which one to attend...and I have to do it by tomorrow at 10:00.
They're about the same price as SC. Did that help?

I've decided it's going to be Kelowna. Hope my mom doesn't mind...she thinks we're going to Skate America.

I live in Kelowna, and it is really fun reading about my city. We do have an international airport, about 25 minutes from downtown. Lots of great wineries and restaurants. One of the best places to eat is Bouchons and it is right across the street from the arena. You won't need your snow boots and parkas unless we have snow way earlier than normal. We don't usually have snow until December. Temps should be similar to what we had in New Brunswick. So nice to finally have a competition I don't have to fly across the country to.

We love Kelowna, and have spent many a summer holiday there, and many business trips too when Mr alilou was still working. It's a lovely city.

Yes...just the way Halloween falls this year with kiddos. It would be fine if it were a weekday holiday this year, but alas.

I had to try several times to get row A. I hate when they won't just let you choose the seats you want grrrrr

I'm still trying to get through on the phone. I need to talk to a person to ensure that it's accessible for my mom so there's no way I can do it online.

Very annoying when you can't pick your seats, especially when the agency has the capacity for it, as Select Your Tickets does with the tickets for the Kelowna Rockets. It was the same in the member pre-sale on Thursday. Had to try numerous times for the seats I wanted (not a very productive employee for those couple of hours ). Fortunately, it worked out quite well, and I was able to get very close to my ideal location - Section 111 row B, seats 5 -7.

Umm it's not large, but you can get there on Air Canada and Westjet at least -through connections from Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. It's a working airport. What more do you need?
I know. But I do not approve. And I am not resigned.
