    Your favorite donuts/doughnuts?

It's Friday! Time to have a little fun. The Oksana thread in the trash can mentioned donut (spin) and I thought this may be a good time to discuss our favorite donuts (some may prefer doughnuts but it's the same thing).

I admit this is not healthy food, but I don't mind an occasional donut.

I have listed as many as I could. Please pick as many types as you wish.

My favorite is the chocolate-coated donut filled with pudding, so I picked both of those.

My most favorite is a plain donut, slightly heated, then coated with honey. I buy plain donuts and make these honey coated donuts.

My other favorites are glazed (white sugar). I like an occasional chocolate coated or maple sugar coated, but I don't eat those very often. Usually I go for plain or glazed.

But it's missing the bigger question: cake or yeast/raised? They're two totally different animals.

I personally don't like cake donuts at all, they're dry and flavourless IMO. Yeast donuts aren't my favourite snack either, but I'll have one every so often, maybe 2 or 3 times a year. Apple fritter is my fave, with plain glazed (or maple glazed) a second choice.

glazed for sure - and I've never known there was more than one way to glaze, so I'll assume that the "white sugar" option is the one I like. Second favorite is lemon- or custard-filled with powdered sugar coating, but seeing the option listed as "pudding" is making me rethink it - the thought of pudding is Third favorite is creme-filled with chocolate on top. Or plain.

    I flove do(ugh)nuts

For the raised yeast donuts white icing with sprinkles, possibly filled with bavarian creme (not sure if this is same as pudding, don't really know what that is. Sometimes there are other creme fillings, and I don't like them). Jelly is okay, but so sweet that I prefer a plain donut.
For cake donut, just cinnamon sugar.

Chocolate with white cream (called Angel Creme where I buy them), peanut butter with jelly filled, strawberry shortcake (powdered with angel creme and strawberry jelly on the middle), lemon pudding filled, and raspberry jelly filled. I love donuts, but I very rarely eat them.

If I see "bear claws", I usually grab those first. Glazed yeast-raised.

The chocolate old-fashioned glazed donuts from Top Pot in Seattle. Followed closely by the Maple Bar. I do however, still dream about these spice cake donuts (glazed), from this bakery sadly gone now. Although I continue to search, I've never found its equal.

I lurrrve me some sour cream donuts

I remember being disgusted at the thought of a donut tasting sour, but I was pleasantly surprised by how rich it was and not sour at all!

Although not donut-shaped, I'm also partial to homemade Okinawan andagi which are kind of like donut holes except with awesome crispy exteriors

I'm a fan of Entenmmen's glazed donuts. More like cake, really.
