I think the Gamelin twins are my new faves outside the top five or six.

And, don't forget Feng/Ponomarenko (hope I have names right): they had an awesome showing this past week at Nationals with a great novice free.

IMO A/E surpassing L/G-S reeks of politics.

They have a wonderful free dance and I hope they medal at 4CC.

I don't think Pasquale is more influential than Igor, but I do think the USFS wanted to give A/E a vote of confidence after their very rough fall season. There is a trend in recent years of U.S. Jr champions splitting after a rough first year senior. K/G-S are likely on their way out, so no need to boost them. I hope (and expect) K/G-S to finish ahead of A/E at 4CC. For my money, A/E's FD is still a total mess and way below the standard I've come to expect from the DSC teams.

Did you go to Boston? A&E are definitely much better live than on TV. However, I still would have had Lynn & Logan ahead in the FD\, but that's because I love that Spartacus FD

I want to give a big thank you to whomever posted the last two flights. What a great event!

I agree with Doris about K/G-S' FD (I hope someone posts it as a separate video. It deserves to be stand-alone) and I thought C/M were just wonderful, too! I enjoyed both of those much more than A/E's. IDK, I can acknowledge A/E are good skaters but there is something I can't put my finger on...they just don't pull me in...or maybe it's just because it was waaaay too soon to do Bollywood after D/W for me (but I felt the same about their SD). With time, perhaps I will become more of a fan, though.

I hope that K/G-S skate well at Four Continents and that the "boost" A/E has from Nationals doesn't hurt them (K/G-S) in the eyes of the international judges. K/G-S have been MIA all season as well, so that probably won't help either.

Has this been confirmed??? I was hoping they would skate at least one more year after making the change in coaches. I heard they were battling injuries throughout the season and then they withdrew from Ice Challenge. The lost training time had to have hindered improvements they were making with Igor.

The change in direction for their FD was such a good choice and their skating seemed to be so much more fluid...I wonder if they had been with Igor earlier in their career...oh well I will miss them.

Watching it live, no question in my mind A&E deserved to be ahead of Lynn & Logan. Lynn & Logan have lovely highlight moves but otherwise they are not quite where the top 5 teams are including A&E.
Congratulations 2014 World Ice Dance Champions Anna Cappellini & Luca Lanotte!!!

Seeing the novice and junior dance events in Boston gave me a lot of optimism for US dance in the coming decade. Fingers crossed for these kids staying together in the long haul.

Regrettably I did not see any intermediate or juvenile comp. Was hoping to see the Green team but didn't get to it.

I'll be sad to see Lynn and Logan go . They have a unique style about them that sets them apart from the other Michigan based teams. This article seems to confirm that Cannuscio and McManus will stay for a while, http://skateguard1.blogspot.ca/2014/...n-mcmanus.html .

I like this quote from Colin, I'm so glad to hear this. I like their skating a lot

"In all honesty, this past season was a bit of a wake up call. Though we had some great highlights, the end of the season left a lot to be desired. We are both motivated to become one of the top dance teams in the country. We are ready to reinvent ourselves, and take chances. We are currently working with our coaches assessing the past 6 years, and setting up the best game plan for us. We want to get more international assignments, we want to get back onto the Grand Prix circuit, and we want to be on the podium at the U.S. Championships. We have a great support system behind us, and we are ready to take our skating in a new direction. "
Congratulations 2014 World Ice Dance Champions Anna Cappellini & Luca Lanotte!!!
