Which singles male skater would you LIKE to see win the OGM in Sochi?

This is not a prediction poll. It's a popularity poll- sort of.

Which single male skater would you Like to see win the Gold in the 2014 Olympics?

You can pick just one (since usually there are not two gold medals in FS; there is always a tie breaker). I realize this is tough if you have several favorites.

Since there isnt an option for "anyone but Chan" I will pick Takahashi. I would be happy if it were Fernandez or Abbott (no way it will ever be Abbott though I know) too.

I voted for Takahashi, but Fernandez was my second choice. If Abbott could get his jumps together, I'd vote for him.

I would love for Abbott to get his act together, but I think he's too injured to even make the US team to Sochi. (but I voted for him anyway)

Any one of Kozuka, Takahashi or Chan would be fine with me .

Takahashi because he's my favourite on that list and he's definitely retiring (IIRC) so it would be a good "retirement present", kind of lol.

Takahashi is a true athlete/artist in my opinion. And that's the kind of competitor I prefer in the long run. So, since Stephan Lambiel is long retired, I'll take Dai.

Definitely Takahashi. He's the total package. Fernandez for silver (he's young, he can win in 2018 )

Does Jeremy have an injury right now? I didn't know.

I am surprised that this poll is turning into Takahashi vs. Chan. I thought some of the other skaters were very popular. May be people just don't think they can win in 2014.

Vash-- yeah, part of me is bracing for a Javi or Hanyu win. Esp the latter. Either seems very possible to me. Of course we never know, but from here the men's event looks to be a nailbiter to me.

Hmm ... why did you say this? You think people who voted didn't understand your question?

I think it's more that people just want Daisuke to retire with an OGM, because he's friggin' amazing and also older than the rest of the pack. I love Javier, Yuzuru, Denis, Jeremy, and Taka (and Florent)like crazy, but if Daisuke won I'd be over the moon. lol, that was literally the only thing I was happy about for the Men's competition in Vancouver.

    I voted for Javier.

Certainly, FSU users pretend not to like & appreciate Chan only outwardly.
I am surprised (in a good way) lately to see an old FSU poll thread. In 'the best NA male skater' question, Chan was ranked 3rd. It was even before Chan became a 2-time WC.

I would like Chan to win with clean and inspired programs - to fulfill his potential, finally.

My second choice would be Takahashi. I'd also be fine with a clean, inspired Abbott, but just can't see that happening.

And don't forget Denis Ten. He's in the running, and I'd be fine with him as Olympic champ as well.

Mostly, I want to see good skating from the men. Not a 'who makes the least mistakes' and 'who wants to take it' competition. Much as Lysacek deserved his Olympic title, the last Olympic mens' comp was the least inspiring and interesting for me of all I have watched. And I started watching seriously in 2004.
