I'll admit to being one who has been voting for Bill. I find him much more pleasant to watch than Snooki (who taxes my mind with the reason she would be invited to be on the show), Brant (who I always seemed to forget) or even Elizabeth (who I found annoying, entitled, and seriously lacking in relatability). I appreciate Corbin's talent, but find him hard to warm up to and root for in this contest because it comes so easy for him. I've never been a fan of Jack Osbourne on or off the dance floor and Amber is dancing with Derek (whom I despise). Leah seems to regress and get scored better for it.

So that left me with Bill, who has improved, tries hard, and doesn't seem to sulk or whine. Do I think he should win the whole season? No, but I don't mind some of those who bother me the most going before he goes.

I realize that the judges are supposed to create drama, be snarky, etc. But in my opinion they would get their point across better if they explained their reasoning. While a cute concept, Leah's trio dance showed just how little she has progressed. Her placement was incorrect most of the time and her kicks and flicks were horrible next to Henry and Tony. Love me some Sharna and Cheryl, but Jack's dance was sadly highlighting just how lost he can be out there on the floor. Instead of telling Bill how horrible his dance was, explain why it wasn't as good as those two others. Explain what it was that was so off about it. Bruno can scream his butt off about timing and rhythm but when others struggle with those same elements they get 9's.

All that said, I did enjoy Leah's trio for the entertaining concept. But my husband said it best that Henry looked more like Bill Clinton than Len.

Excellent point. When I watched the trio dances, I watched Corbin in his and barely noticed his pros. In Leah's, I watched the extra pro so I think you're right.

I've voted for Bill and I will keep voting for Bill and I think I'm probably pretty typical of the know-nothing-about-dance viewer who is looking more for entertainment and enthusiasm over tempo and toe-point. I do like Corbin because he does seem to have embraced the spirit of the show but he and Elizabeth came into Day 1 with way more experience anyone else so I expected them to be good (kind of like Kristi Yamaguchi) and to go up from there. To me, Elizabeth didn't go up and personality-wise she didn't grab my attention.

I don't see what the judges see in Leah or Jack and neither one is as likeable as Bill. I expect a lot of viewers are voting for Bill because he's so much more of the Everyman stereotype - a little older, a little clumsy, obviously doing something he's never done before and yet still trying hard and enjoying himself and his partner. I expect that in a lot of homes in Middle America, Mama Ethel is elbowing Papa Fred and saying, "see, if he can learn all that, you can dance at your daughter's wedding next June." And Fred just might be thinking that maybe he could.

I like seeing someone with the non-stereotyped body doing well but I'm not surprised Amber's knees can't take the strain. I'll miss Derek though. (He and Mark were very brave - and stronger than they look - to even try to hoist her in a lift!) I like him and his choreography. I kind of expected to see Amber lose some weight during the season but it doesn't look like she has - or else the costumes they're putting her in are making up for it.
I'd rather be thought of as absolutely ridiculous than as absolutely boring.

If the producers wanted to adjust the percentage of judges vote that counted towards the total, they could. They have chosen not to do so.

I think Amber is ok, since she won the tweet contest for the best intro dance.

I wasn't sorry to see Elizabeth go... she's better than Jack, Leah, and Bill, but worse than Christina, Snooki, and Brant so this is about where she deserved to leave. For all the grief Corbin gets for having dance experience and being good, she has dance experience and wasn't that good (wiki says she danced in Swan Lake as a tween)... she was overscored throughout.

I've been thinking Amber was going to take it in the end but with her knees I think she might underwhelm in the freestyle like Ricki Lake. I would love to see Corbin and Karina win, but it'll be an uphill climb.

Is next week a double elim? The finale is in two weeks so then it's either a double elim next week or 4 finalists. I think they'll get rid of Leah and Bill next and Jack will make the finals (Cheryl in the finals again, ugh).

I loved Corbin's trio dance last night, but while he is good it's the only dance I have loved of his. Leah's trio dance was a lot of fun and I do think she has improved, I just don't see what the judges see. Don't understand the high points for Jack either. He is working hard as is Bill. Am guessing Bill is bringing in lots of viewers, which is what the show needs. Having a hard time liking the Amber/Derek pairing as the Val/Elizabeth. I do see that Elizabeth was good, but not upset she left.

I see Corbin on this show like Alex Wong on SYTYCD. Alex was already a working professional but used the competition as a learning experience. Corbin seems to be doing the same, he is very intent on listening to all of his critiques and you can see him processing what he is being told. I think he is doing this to better himself. Yes he has had dance experience but not ballroom. The posture in itself is hugely different from hip hop to ballroom. He has improved. It's just he started off at a different level from say Jack or Bill

[QUOTE=BaileyCatts;4048038]As I keep telling my mom every week, its not a dancing contest, its a popularity contest.
If the show was about learning and judging ballroom dancing, not creating entertainment and theater, then the results would be a problem. If they aren't even going to focus on the real basics and have them perform actual ballroom dances, not ballroom-flavored dances, then the premise is up in the air anyway.

It is his fault: he could be staging all kinds of , with his pro in his backstage footage, and drop his partner to get people to stop voting for him instead of trying hard, improving, and remaining extremely likeable.

ITA. I think he's been a pleasure to watch, behind-the-scenes and on the dance floor.

I actually think that Bill has gotten worse as the season has gone on. Corbin was great to start, but he is really taking the advice to heart. IMO Leah is the most improved by far. She (again, just IMO) looks like she deserves to be there now. Not to win, but like she belongs. Jack is a bit sloppier than her, but still much stronger than Bill. To me, Bill looks like he belongs on a completely different show.

I get the likeability of Bill, but this is a dancing show, and that, to me, needs to factor in more.

A few years ago, I was in Australia when their season finale of DWTS was on. I remember 2 dancers - one who was way better than the other. The much worse dancer won the show because of popular votes. The next day there were a lot of unhappy fan comments in the media - fans of the show (even fans of the winner made comments) were not happy the better dancer lost.

Well, it's nice that Bill had a 2nd dance tonight that got praise from all of the judges as he, once again, was saved by his fan votes. Leah and Tony are gone just before the final and Tony looked really annoyed. I thought Maks did a good job on the judging side of the table.

I stopped watching after Brant was voted off. He was a favorite to watch. I don't get this season at all. The only one left that I enjoy watching is Corbin. I do not get the judges praise for Jack or Leah. Bill and Emma are like a case of vote for the worst. I do not find him watchable....and if I were his wife, I would be very concerned about his relationship with Emma. Amber can dance but is overrated. She does not achieve nice lines and positions. Derek's fans are certainly a factor. Oh well, I will hope for better next season.

For some reason, Jack seems overly whiney and sort of gives me the creeps. I just don't get the judge-love for him.

I fell asleep during Bill's second dance. I think this is an indication of lack of interest. I haven't voted either this year.

As always. What about that costume Emma had for "Sexy and I Know It" (the first one). That left me gob-smacked. Kind of Pocohantus Meets Britney Spears. Very strange. The costumes seem to be pornier with each season. It also occurs to me , what with all the guys tearing their shirts off, how absolutely tasty and gorgeous Maks looked sitting there in his tux. Sigh...

Actually, I found his tango to be a refreshing change. He did a serious number rather than the spoofs he's been doing, designed to divert attention from his dancing. I think it was his best yet.

I actually find Jack (and Bill) to be the most genuine of the remaining stars.

Bill's tango was much better than his recent dances, but still way below everyone else. I'm really not getting his sticking around.

And I agree that Amber's personality and charisma are covering a lot of flaws with her dancing. Her posture and lines are not good, but she sells the hell out of it.

Corbin is by far the best dancer, but with all his training and experience, that's not a surprise. So it's kind of unfair he's in the competition.

Really I don't find anyone left that I really want to cheer for. Never thought I'd say this before this show, but I miss Snooki!

Maks was adorable and did a good job. I liked how he stated he needed to not be a hypocrite while judging and I thought that he was honest, but still nice. And it was fun to watch him watch Bruno.
