I'm quite excited I love OUAT. Though I've read that Belle doesn't get much screentime. The writers irritate me so much sometimes, they handle so many plots poorly and fail to develop so many. Is Belle's entire value really just in her relationship with Rumple? I feel like they could do so much more with the character, especially with an actress of Emilie's caliber playing her.

Of course we don't know how dead Rumple really is ... but yes, I agree, I'd love to see more Belle. I think, though, that because she so completely "good" without any dark secrets or hidden desires, her greatest dramatic purpose is when she's paired with Rumple -- not because of the love angle so much as because she brings out the best in him and is sometimes the only barrier to him unleashing complete evil.

And with a multi-character series like this, if we have more Belle we'd have to have less ... someone else. And when we're back in Fairytaleland you just know we're going to see the return of characters we haven't seen for the first half of the season: Robin Hood, Aurora, and Mulan to name but three.

I'm excited for the show to be back as well. I've really missed it, especially the Charmings. I'd love to see how the second half of this season plays out.

I'm curious to see how they work around Ginnifer Goodwin's pregnancy. Or if it will be adapted into the storyline as Snow and Charming's new kid.

CTV aired the recap episode last night instead of tonight. Nothing really revelatory or insightful but still entertaining and a great way to get me in the mood for tonight.

In case you didn't spot it, the recap airs on ABC tonight at 7:00 right before the new episode, "New York City Serenade," at 8:00.

This Good Morning Storybrooke promo went up in the last 24 hours, from what I can see, as well.

Josh Dallas said on GMA that it will be written into the show as Snow and Charming will have a baby.

A special on the story up until now is on ABC right now, prior to the spring premier.

So excited for this to be back! I've missed my weekly Captain Hook fix.

And the show in general, of course. Really curious to see how this new curse plays out.

Not at all surprised since one big plot point of the last season was Snow grieving for the time she lost with Emma with the resolution being that she asked Charming if they could have another baby and he said yes.

Emma's gonna be a big sister! And Henry is going to be a nephew to the bitty baby, hehe.

Is Ginny really that far along in her pregnancy, or was some of that baby bump padding? I'm assuming the latter. The big cloak she wore for the year-ago scenes wouldn't have covered that much -- but she's obviously showing some.

Anyway, great setup for the 2nd half of the season. Looking forward to:
~ How they're going to convince/re-remember Henry (aka "the truest believer")
~ What happened in the year in Fairytaleland
~ How they're going to bring back Rumple
~ What Wicked's beef is with Regina, and what the new curse is all about

I'm also glad that Emma's new boring love interest is out of the picture (LOL at him being a shapeshifting flying monkey, though!). A triangle with Neilfire and Hook is enough, we don't need a fourth.

One thing confused me though: Unless I'm mis-remembering, the flashback storyline earlier in the season with Tinkerbell and Regina had Tink showing Regina her new true love as Robin Hood, no? Did Tink just lead Regina to the pub, and Regina stopped short of actually going in and meeting him? That must have been it, otherwise there would have been a much different meeting between them in the forest.

Regina never went into the pub. IIRC she stood outside and may have seen the back of Robin's head, but that was as close as she came.

Didn't she also see a tattoo on his arm? One that we saw later on so we'd know who he was?

We saw the tattoo (obviously) ... but I'm not sure she did. Even if she did, though, she was so not open to the idea of another "true love" for herself at the time that I'm not sure it would make any difference. If she and Robin do end up following the true love path, I'm thinking it will be because of what they do in the present, not some pre-ordained thing.

Tink told her that the man in the bar she was to look for had the tattoo. Later on we saw that the person with the tattoo was Robin Hood, when he asked Mulan to join his band of men. Regina never went in the bar and we did not see that he was the man in the bar.

Hmm ... I guess we won't be seeing much of Mulan in the upcoming flashback-Fairytaleland scenes, since I see that Jamie Chung is listed for all 6 episodes so far of Believe. That's too bad, Mulan was such a great character ... but then again there are plenty of other kickass women in OuaT so I guess they'll do okay without her.

And Red appeared very briefly in the scene where they all arrive back in Fairytaleland, but I don't expect we'll see her again this season since Intelligence is still on the air. I don't blame Meghan Ory for making that choice, but again, it's a shame that she had to go for a big part in a considerably inferior series.

Over on Tor.com, Mari Ness has done a series of blogs on the Oz books, among other things. Here is a link to her blog about this episode.

Well, not terrible, but that was not exactly the strongest episode this season IMO.

My favourite parts were the scenes with Emma and Regina -- their ability to recognize each others' qualities, and acknowledge their shared love of their son, bodes well for how things might eventually work out re: Henry's two moms. And I really do feel for Regina -- her redemption wasn't quite as convincing for me (largely because her path to evilness seemed based on something so irrational) but I certainly feel how painful it has to be for Henry not to know her.

The Regina-Robin scenes were pretty good too.

But yet another crooked branch on the family tree seems a pointless complication. They could easily have explained Wicked's ability to break the blood spell by the fact that she had some of Regina's blood from the monkey. Although if they later use it as an excuse to bring back Barbara Hershey for another flashback Cora episode explaining Wicked's backstory, I guess that makes some sort of sense.

The flying monkeys being a werewolf kind of thing is pretty cool, though.

And obviously we knew Rumple would be back, and Wicked doing the deed makes a much sense as anything else.

I'm not quite sure how I felt about this latest episode. Last week felt really strong to me, and while I did like last night's episode, it felt a bit off.

Regina was a highlight for me. Her reaction to seeing Henry again really struck with me. I also really loved the Emma and Regina scenes; they make a good team and they play well off of each other.

I'm going back and forth on the Regina/Zelina sister situation. It makes perfect sense for Cora to totally abandon a daughter with green skin, especially since I would guess she had already taken out her heart by this point. But it's still like...here we go again with yet another twist in the family tree. I shouldn't be surprised by anything from the writers of LOST by this point.

It'll be interesting to see how Rumple's storyline plays out.
