Take the Test: How Well Do You See Color?

I've always loved colour, so this test really interested me. I feared I would test low, which would have hurt me!! But I scored an eleven, so I'm happy. But as one poster said in the comments section, "what you can't see, you can't miss". One thing that surprised me is that I did the poorest in the green (and beige) areas. Green has always been my favourite colour, followed by purple and pink. How did I do the poorest with the colours I like best??

Here's the link to the article. Which includes a link to the test.

    From the article:

It is generally believed that around 1 out of 255 women and 1 out of 12 men may have some degree of color blindness. When you consider the importance color plays in the products we buy, our aesthetic tastes, and the design decisions we make when we decorate, it's quite intriguing to consider that many of us may not perceive colors in the same way.
I'll include a poll with this threads we can see how we did as a group.
It's official. I am madly in love with Meryl Davis.

I got a 4. Since a 0 is a perfect score, I'm absolutely shocked. I quilt and color is the absolute hardest part of it for me. I've even taken color theory classes trying to get better. But I guess part of that is that I just don't know what colors go well together, and how to balance the various aspects of colors to put them together.

Just putting a hued sequence together wasn't really that hard. The four I missed were all in the green/brown spectrum which I find really interesting because my Mom is green/brown color blind. I wonder if some of it is genetic.

I got 47. I wonder, though, if the computer screen makes a difference--I was halfway through before I brightened my screen which I typically keep quite dim as it helps with eye strain.

I also have retinal issues, foggy spots in my vision and a tiny cataract beginning on one eye (and my specialist tells me I am 25-30 years too young for all of that). Probably impressive that I even got 47!

28 for me. Skittl1321, I'm another quilter but I never think all that much about color palettes, it's more of what's available in my fabric stash

Glue is typically the hardest color to see.

I got 115 - does that mean I am way off the mark or okay?

This test is part of the process for being hired by TSA, or at least it was a few years ago. When you go for an interview, it's an all day event where you go to various stations and pretty much, one wrong move, and you're out. This was one of the biggest applicant weeders. Not only do you have to do the test, but it's timed. You have to get them all correct and you have one minute to do it.

In other words, I'm using my bragging rights now, cause there's no way in hell I'd take it again. I was the first person in my rotation group to "pass" so by the time I went in, I was a nervous wreck. It's probably the worst test experience I've ever had that didn't involve math.

(I did get a job offer, btw...unfortunately, it took them five and a half months to lose all my paperwork twice, do all the necessary background checks, and for a spot to open, and by then I'd found employment elsewhere)

But I don't say that. I would only really comment on it if she looked like sh*t".
