I'm as impatient as the next person to see the new programs. However, from an athlete's perspective, I completely understand the importance of keeping your work under wraps until you feel is presentable. The programs will evolve over the season, but there are different levels of "progress" in "work in progress" and, no matter how many silly pictures we get, this camp is a crucial working session.

True. But it is kind of a disservice to the team who could've benefited from the camp's seminars/feedback before going to the competition.

I agree and would agree more if almost all of the programs had not been seen already...?? Just would be fun to see them again and skating in silence in an arena without an audience?? From an athletes look boring and weird and empty. Just excited to see them and be able to enjoy them with a larger audience I would think that would prepare the athletes better for the season with a filled arena rather than a HUGE arena with no one watching. I understand the need to be with the judges and that should not be public and it is working just thought it would add to their learning and feel more like reality but I get your point kind of this arena could be filled it would be more realistic I would think? but hope they have fun and excited for the season to come!!

At Josh's hair and outfit. Idk what he's thinking, maybe experimenting or USFS told him to get a new style? I miss the Tom Cruise hair, he should have never cut it. Oh well, hopefully he'll learn style tips eventually. Loving Agnes' blonde curly look though!

Can't wait for the cheesy team building photos and videos to arrive, those are always my favorite part of champs camp!

The purpose of the camp is to be a working session, not an exhibition. The athletes need feedback on the content of their programs from skating professionals, not the public. It is not odd to be skating in the practice rink with USFS monitors and other officials. This is no different than doing videotaped runthrus at home with visiting judges or monitors. BTW I think they are skating in the Olympic Rink at the Ice Hall, not the World Arena which would be extremely expensive to rent. Re: the team building exercise, it may seem hokey to some but it serves a purpose since the athletes need to bond and become one Team USA since they will be traveling together and representing the USA together. This is the only opportunity for athletes who do not live near each other to interact socially before traveling.

We should get some nice tidbits, as much as she's allowed by TPTB, from Lynn Rutherford who is there.

"Britney Simpson recovering well from shoulder surgery 6/24. Simpson&Blackmer are here at Champs Camp to participate in off-ice events. They are working to be ready for Grand Prix in Russia"

"Champs Camp: SPs start soon.Denney & Frazier will reprise their Spanish-theme SP of last season, not Bollywood SP they did at Skate Detroit."

"Champs Camp: Aldridge & Eaton will not perform their programs here, due to Eaton's ankle injury, said coach Pasquale Camerlengo.
Champs Camp, cont.: "It happened in Lake Placid, torn ligaments; it's getting much better but not ready yet," Camerlengo said of Eaton."

    ETA USFS' tweets so far:

Today's schedule: skating. Everyone will skate their short programs at the @csworldarena in a closed door session. http://pic.twitter.com/TRriMbcqxE

Leave phone unattended, find pictures like this on camera roll. Glad you're having fun @MarissaCastelli #ChampsCamp http://pic.twitter.com/YZE0RfOII2

Not to brag, but I'm watching figure skating right now. No, actually I guess this is bragging. The men are practicing now. #ChampsCamp

As this is a closed session, we can't report too much. Now practicing on the ice are Lysacek, Brown, Abbott and Miner. Sorry!

More of the news will come later when all the athletes will speak to the media. #ChampsCamp

Of the skating quality, all I can say is...it's an Olympic year. What we have seen today so far is fantastic. #Tease #ChampsCamp

Practice still ongoing here at the @csworldarena. Short programs will be performed beginning with dance at 3:20 ET. Closed door sessions.

Three ladies, @AshWagner2010, @mirai_nagasu and @christina_gao are on the ice for their practice session.

The rest of the ladies, @carolinezhang, @GraceEGold, @SammiCesario and @agneszawadzki are practicing now.

Evan looks like he's doing all his off-ice training at a tanning booth.
