Congrats to Julia on her first GP gold medal! I'm sure it is the first of many.

I think she's made some real improvements in her presentation. She was outstanding today. Barring disaster, she will definitely be in Sochi. Now she needs to work on her power and speed

Julia score at Skate Canada surpassed Irina Slutskaya highest score, thus making that the highest scoring russian performance ever. For the record, that was also the 13rd highest score ever, making her the 6th highest scoring lady ever, only surpassed by Yuna, Mao, Rochette, Miki and Suzuki (higher than Kostner's PB score).

It was a great performance. What really impressed me was that her PCS score was 80! Her TES was around 70. If she skates absolutely clean, with more speed, those scores could go out of the roof. I don't think her small frame can generate a lot of power (not before she grows up to 20 years or so) but speed is something that she could work on right now, and try to get more height on her double axel. I really hope she grows into a great champion.

Who is Bazarova/Larionov's coach now? Kudryavtsev was just supposed to be an interim coach until they make new arrangements.

Wow... One of the worst choreographed programs ever makes a triumphant return for the Olympic season. Lovely. 10/10

I guess the judges won't be opening their eyes this time either.

Was that the programme where the step sequence took a full minute?
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

Yeah, well the chance of her getting to actually skate it at the Olympics is pretty low so she may as well not invest in something new.
