Pogorilaya and Lipnitskaya for the Olympic team
Tuk and Sot do not seem to be in form to be competitive there at this point, I don't care about PCS at least Pogorilaya can land and rotate her triples!!!

And yikes 74 for Korobeynikova?! And at a domestic event as well...I really hope she is not injured, she is so talented and beautiful to watch, it's a shame to see her struggle like this...

I would love to see him on any podium; he is definitely one of my favorites.
You, my dear, are my new best friend!! I too hope that he can emerge from the ether that was last season strong, and consistent i landing those magnificent jumps!!

The Finlandia results links, with the detailed protocols, are available here:

    http://www.figureskatingresults.fi/r...2013/index.htm

Gachinski fell on the 4T attempt, doubled the toe in combination which got -.35 GOE (3Lz/2T), and got no credit for the step sequence.

I see Gachinski struggled with the two big elements, but I think the program is beautiful and that his upper body movement has a lot of fluidity. He flails a bit in the footwork, but the pace is slow enough that his arms don't get crazy.

ETA: Does anyone know why the step sequence got no credit? I didn't see a discernible pattern, and the start wouldn't have been offside.

This seems to be an issue Affecting many skaters and it's not using all the ice surface.

With all due respect to their coaching teams, I think Liza and Adelina need (mini) makeovers. I don't really see their skating going in the right direction - in terms of performance, but also in packaging and style. IMO.

*le sigh* THE ARTISTE of Russian Men's Figure Skating! He is so beautiful and truly understands the meaning of musical phrasing. The jumps he did manage to land cleanly were delicious! GO ARTUR, You can do it!

I actually rather like it - moreso than the SP.

Now all we need to do is free her from her costume designer who only seems able to make one kind of outfit

Voronov's program does feel quite empty to me too, however I noticed that he scored higher than Gachinski on the transitions and choreography marks.

He apparently got the lutz back during the off-season. Kudos to him!

Great job by Lipnitskaia in Finlandia. If she avoids injury she should definitely be on the Sochi team. She seems to have a much better head for competition than Sotnikova or Tuktamysheva.

I think Lipnitskaya's programs are a big step up from last year, and importantly, they suit her very well. She doesn't skate with the charm and overt exuberance of someone like Radionova, so going for something introspective was a good idea.
