Jesse, can they give you something to help with your appetite?
Are you feeling sick from the pneumonia? Still running a fever? Are you still on antibiotics? They make me lose my appetite and make me lethargic.

So sorry that things are not getting better for you. XOXO

Your medical team should be able to adjust your medications to ease at least some of what you are experiencing.
    Talk with them.

Adding my support to all that is already with you.

Jesse - I'm glad that you've been able to catch some of Nebelhorn via youtube. Since I know you have excellent taste in skating , I'd love to hear which programs impressed you. In the meantime, I hope today will be an easier day for you.
"I miss footwork that has any kind of a discernible pattern. The goal of a step sequence should not be for a skater to show the same ice coverage as a Zamboni and take about as much time as an ice resurface. " ~ Zemgirl, reflecting on a pre-IJS straight line sequence

Hi Jesse, Hoping today is better. You might like Jason Brown's Riverdance FP from Nebelhorn. Unbelievably intricate and a total audience grabber. He is my favorite US man tho' he hasn't debuted a quad yet so his chances of making the Oly team are a bit iffy.

I wouldn't want something to help with appetite, at least until I lose my huge belly.
I'll be on antibiotics for 10 days. I am not sure about the fever.. yesterday they didn't check because I had a million other problems to deal with.

Hoping today is a better day Jesse! Don't you worry about your belly! Your body needs nourishment to help get better. Just focus on healthy. As a skater, you know how to do that.

Today I set my alarm so I could get up to watch the men from Nebelhorn. I was really pulling for Paul Bonifacio Parkinson because he is a friend and a really nice kid. I was so pleased that he earned the Olympic spot for Italy. Now I'm hoping he gets to use it! I was also excited that Jeremy Ten and Paul/Islam won bronze. Good day for Canada!

(((Jesse))). Don't worry about the belly. It is not the result of overeating. Your body needs food, to regain its strength. Tummy can be reduced later. Just focus on getting better.

Is this about looking good at Skate Canada?

When my mother had cancer and had lost her hair from chemo, she traveled from Florida to Kansas for her 35th HS reunion in her little head scarf. (Wigs were too uncomfortable.) She had a fabulous time seeing old friends even though she certainly wasn't looking her best.

Did Paul Parkinson used to skate for Canada? I thought I used to compete against him..

haha appearance has always been a big thing for me. when i had head/neck radiation and lost a lot of hair i tried evvvvvvvvvvverything.. wigs, hair extentions, touques.. then just avoided people completely until it grew back.

Yes - he was the 2009 Canadian junior men's silver medalist: http://results.skatecanada.ca/2008-2...9CDNS/sr10.pdf
His competitive record since 2007: http://tracings.net/park-paul.html

Your competitive record is on the Tracings site, too.

    .
He's originally from Ottawa and skated for EOS. You probably did compete against him. He splits his training time between Barrie and Colorado now. Pretty exciting that he's been able to qualify Italy for the Olympics.

What level did you stop competing at Jesse? Did you like competing or was show skating more fun?

Hi Jesse. I have not visited this part of the forums before, otherwise I'd have already had you in my prayers. You are now.
