I found some of the old content but it said I don't have a subscription, though I auto-renewed in August.

I have some very unpleasant news from IN. When the letter came out back in August about autorenewing there was a sentence about having the opportunity to upgrade for an additional $40.

Guess what?? I signed up for the season pass for $39 on autorenew. If I want to watch anything other than the 2013 season I would have to pay an additional $40 for that privilege. I am floored that IN did not put any information out about this other than the one sentence in that August email.

I just spent close to 45 minutes on the phone with technical support, higher up technical support, and the billing department and I was told that, yes, they are adding more archives, but unless I was willing to pay the additional $40 I would not be able to view them.

I tried to NOT SCREAM!!! I did tell everyone I spoke with that one sentence with no real information was not sufficient. Personally I don't care about speed skating at all. Yet, for my $39 I am getting speed skating, but not getting the figure skating archives. That situation is really not acceptable.

Yes, I am very grateful for the on demand competitions available this year. However, the recent SLC competition was difficult to access at times and I had to call IN for help. When we get to other competitions like the GP series how is the on demand really going to work?? Is it going to mean calling IN, waiting for 20 minutes to talk to a tech specialist and then going through several steps to actually watch anything??

The other issue I had today when I called was that all I got until after 10:30 a.m. Eastern time was a recording that the office was closed and the regular hours start at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time Monday thru Friday. I was out doing errands and by 2:00 p.m. I did get an answer rather than the recording at IN.

Sorry for the rant, but I am just really angry right now.

Icenetwork! (first time I'm really peeved at them)
Well, that clears things up for me. Looks like I have to pay another 40 to see any old stuff. But then, the rate they have been uploading old content, maybe I don't even have to worry about upgrading

Why is Icenetwork only streaming the last two groups of all the events at nelbelhorn? That makes no sense; do they really think we aren't interested in 2/3 of the skaters? Especially because Miki Ando is in Gr. 1 of the short, Ashley Cain group 2 (3?) and Davis/Brubaker in Group 2 of pairs! As a USFSA funded website, you'd think they'd schedule to show the Americans! I also wanted to see Takahashi and Tran with their new partners. I'm annoyed! It's not like the last groups are filled with amazing high level skaters- sure, there are some, but it isn't so filled with greatness it makes sense to skip the first groups.

Just sharing some more information. I called to make sure that my account was set up with auto renew for next year and it is. The reason I had to pay 49.99 is because I didn't renew my membership with USFSA (Friends of Figure Skating) for this year. So, therefore, I didn't receive a code from USFSA for the discount.

I also asked the customer specialist about the archives and why I couldn't find anything. I explained that I wanted to watch some of the 2013 Worlds Championships. The customer specialist told me to keep checking back because they were still working on the new website. She said that the acrchives would eventually be added back to the new website. I went one step further and asked if I would have to pay anything extra besides the 49.99 in order to watch videos when the archives were added to the new website. The customer specialist said that I wouldn't have to pay anything extra in order to watch.

FWIW I have a subscription and Simone411's post above is my understanding of how it works -- in order to receive the discount you must auto renew. The archives will be added to the newly designed website and there will be no charge above the $39.99 (or $49.99) figure skating subscription to view them.

Speed skating events (worlds, Europeans, etc.) are not included in the figure skating subscription. A speed skating pass may be purchased separately OR you can purchase a "premium season pass" that includes figure skating and speed skating.

I just logged in via the link Doris posted above and I got a message that I would have to upgrade for an additional $40 to view what I clicked on (I think it was one of the Regionals, whatever was near the top of the page). They are calling that the "Ice Premium" package as opposed to the "Ice Figure" package that I already have.

On another note, I tried (using the main link) to view video from the SLC event. It's just about impossible to find it - the prominently displayed video links on the event page only show you the winners' skates. The boxes below have additional vids and I found the one for the SD - I guess you have to keep hitting the back button to see more vids? Why can't they just list the events in a vertical layout and link the video next to each, like with the previous site? Is this some idiot's idea of how to make the website more user-friendly?

After some technical behavior with the old video player, we have decided to move them all into the new video player. 2013 US Champs and Worlds should be done shortly, with the rest right behind.
(I recommend posting over in the IN forum since they are responding to some of the complaints there.)

Apparently this message shows up in error and those of us who have purchased this season's figure skating subscription should be able to access the archived videos as soon as they have been moved to the new video player.

I just tried it and had no problem (clicked on 2012 EGL Regionals). I signed up using the code I got from USFS due to being a member - maybe that makes a difference?

Thanks, good to know! (as long as the new player works and doesn't freeze/skip )

Nope, I'm a USFS member, too. I was auto-renewed (maybe that's the difference?).

Maybe its because I was fresh meat (never had an Ice Network account under that particular email address) and you were used goods, being auto renew.

Well, color me totally confused! I'm not a member of USFS, but I did auto renew for $39.99. During my conversation with tech support, advanced tech support and customer service I was definitely told that to look at 2012 or earlier I would have to upgrade to the Ice Premium package rather than the Ice Figure package that I paid $39.99 for. At the moment I can't even watch the 2013 U. S. Nationals.

I certainly hope that eventually I will be able to watch the archives....without paying any additional money!

I believe that is the case because the link to those archives is from the old website. The customer specialist that I talked to today did say that they were still working on the new website and would be adding the videos from the archives eventually. She said to keep checking back and I also wouldn't have to pay anything extra to watch the archived videos once they were added.

I finally paid $49.99 for the subscription (although I should have been allowed to pay only $39.99 as last year's subscriber). HOwever, I was unable to access any videos. I kept getting a strange message- if you are already a subscriber, log out, then log in again. So I logged out, and clicked on log in. Nothing happened. It just showed my profile. IN is extremely frustrating. I will call them tomorrow and if they cannot fix the problem, I will just cancel my subscription. Why should I pay if I cannot access the videos of past competitions (I was trying for Nebelhorn, and also Evening with champions)? Unfortunately I cannot be on the computer at work and be talking to them at the same time.

Vash, the Evening with Champions interview video was free and available to non-subscribers.

It seems that the info I was given last month wasn't correct. For my $39 I can view the archives. The Evening with Champions isn't the show - only brief interviews with the skaters. I do see some coverage of Nebelhorn, but I think it is only the last 2 groups of dance and pairs. I couldn't find anything from Nebelhorn for ladies or mens......but the website is a real pain IMO and maybe I just haven't found it.

Vash, when did you pay for the subscription? If you just recently paid for it, then it might take a day or so before you can view the videos. Try again later, and there are now some teleconferences from Skate America at IN that you should be able to listen to. Here's the link to Ashley Wagner's teleconference:

IN only showed the last two groups.

This is IN's 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy event page: http://www.icenetwork.com/schedule/2...belhorn_trophy
If you click on "See All Video" at the bottom, more Nebelhorn videos will appear in "Event Highlights". I see individual videos, as well as free skates (final 2 groups) for ladies & pairs & free dance, but not the men's FS. I don't see the last two groups of short programs for any of the disciplines displayed, only a few individual videos.

ETA: I don't see a video for Oda's winning Nebelhorn FS - will go ask about it over in the IN forum at some point. I know the very few people they have working there are in the middle of uploading videos from the first 3-6 U.S. Regionals.
