Just to be sure, yesterday I did a search on my email inbox. It seems I first registered on IN in 2010. Then I got the autorenewal emails until August 2012. There was no autorenewal notice in 2013. They clearly dropped the ball. Also, if they tried to renew (without my knowledge) using my credit card on Aug. 20th, it should have worked, unless they were using an old credit card number (I don't remember which one I had used in 2010, but I know which one I used in 2012). By that time I had been back from abroad for 10 days which means everything had been taken care of, so there was no reason for that card to be rejected.
I can try calling them again and insist on talking to a supervisor. I think it's grossly unfair to tell a customer that will not even try again renewing me at the subscriber rate when they did not even bother to send me an autorenewal notice.
