I dont' think I hide my feelings about what's transpired over there very well, but I thought I'd offer you some additional food for thought.

I, personally, would escallage your issue. (Nobody wants to lose a customer.) But when you do, make sure that whomever you are speaking to has the authorization to change the subscription price (ask them.) Do it over the phone if you have to in order to get what you want. And if you were an autosubscriber and that's the difference between being emailed or not, make sure that they know that and ask that they fix autosubscription issue. Always ask for a supervisor or whomever is above the person that can't help you and don't stop until you are satisfied.

Good luck and let us know if you fare any better this time around.
    That's good advice. Thanks.

Just to be sure, yesterday I did a search on my email inbox. It seems I first registered on IN in 2010. Then I got the autorenewal emails until August 2012. There was no autorenewal notice in 2013. They clearly dropped the ball. Also, if they tried to renew (without my knowledge) using my credit card on Aug. 20th, it should have worked, unless they were using an old credit card number (I don't remember which one I had used in 2010, but I know which one I used in 2012). By that time I had been back from abroad for 10 days which means everything had been taken care of, so there was no reason for that card to be rejected.

I can try calling them again and insist on talking to a supervisor. I think it's grossly unfair to tell a customer that will not even try again renewing me at the subscriber rate when they did not even bother to send me an autorenewal notice.

Well, I'm eating my own words. I did contact IceNetwork again. They said I wasn't e-mailed because I wasn't an autosubscriber. I don't know how that happened but I somehow opted out of autosubscribing last season. I did tell them to fix that for me. No discount, but I decided to go ahead and subscribe again. I've missed out of seeing the European Championships for quite a few years now, and I definitely want to watch this year.

There's a lot of skating events this year, and I want to see it all. I now believe it is worth the price after seeing the schedule/events and I just decided to give myself a birthday present!

Regards IN, I've been trying to contact them in regards to watching Old Archive Footage, but was hung up on twice this AM, and then got a message saying "they were closed", which is weird as it should've only been 12PM their time? Mayhap they are out to lunch??? Still, they should have said that.

Currently I'm having a horrible time trying to access video archive coverage (most recent video coverage of the US Classic, et al is no problema), keeps saying "I need to subscribe", though I already have (been on their auto subscribe since 2006). It's frustrating. Oh well....

Nadine, here's the link to the old archive. Click on what you want to watch, login, and then hit the back key.

    Contacting Ice Network vs. MLB

    Hey folks,

I just spent a long time on the phone with a very nice gentleman at IN. I have subscription problems of my own, which are now being researched.

Then, I got a chance to discuss some things about Ice Network, MLB and some other things. I would like to share with you folks what I learned.

Ice Network may have a call center in the US somewhere but it is more likely that when you call that 866 number on the website, you will get someone in the Phillipines.

If your issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, ask for an "Account Specialist."

Account Specialists are technical customer service personel. The guy I got was absolutely great.

Account Specialists work for IN _A_N_D_ MLB. You can't separate one from the other. Apparently, it was the same way last year.

I hope this gives people some insight regarding what you can expect when you call IN.

By the way, during our conversation, he did verify that a vast majority of the events IN covers are geoblocked outside the United States. So I asked him, point blank "If all these events are geared to the US, then WHY do you have a first level call center in the Phillipines?"

I also made some other comments that he promised he would relay to the "powers that be." And if he wasn't aware of all the negative comments on IN and OTHER (FSU) websites, he is now!

Please let me know if anything I said helps you. That is my sole intent with this post.

I don't like how they auto-renew and there is no way to un-auto-renew exept for to contact them. Then I guess you sign up again as a USFS member? And it auto-renews you again until you contact them again. I un-auto-renewed because I wasn't sure if it would charge me the 39.99 or the USFS price... I wish they wouldn't do this. Just let me sign up for one year and then the next year I will decide if I want to renew or not.

This is bonkers, but perhaps if some IN folk read here, perhaps it is part of their problem.

There is no logout button on the main screen. When you close the browser window-IN Does Not Log You Out. It keeps your session going. If I try to log in from a new browser window (after thinking I was logged off by closing the browser window), I don't have to fill in a password when I try to log in. Sometimes it says your session has timed out, when I thought by closing the browser window I was logged out. None of this can be particularly good for running the IN site, since it obviously uses some resources.

I called the help line, and the approved method to logout is to go to the My Account screen, and as a suboption under the Profile option, there is Logout.

(And BTW, that is a really boneheaded way for them to set it up. No one is going to find that by accident.)

B/c labor is cheaper there? I assumed they had outsourced to India and wondered why I'd had such trouble understanding the guy, b/c I thought in India, those chosen for call center work speak perfect English. That explains it.

The logoff button and auto-renew aren't their main problems. They need to get their video player integrated with their web infrastructure better so that we don't get error messages saying they can't log us in - when I went through that with the guy I spoke to on Friday, he really had no reason why it wasn't working for me and no solution except to clean out my browser cache and reset my modem. And they need to get the freakin feed to stop freezing. The guy blamed the feed from SLC....yeah, whatever. I assume it had to do with traffic. Much less freezing on the feed of the Challenge events and the worst problem was during the FD at the end when D/W skated. The guy went on and on about how their website was redesigned and they are still working things out....well, sorry to be rude but they should have "worked things out" before the season started.

Does anyone have a link to the pairs free from SLC? I can't find a link anywhere. I emailed customer service and they said to call them to sort out the problem. They simply need to correct their links - they have the junior pairs from the challenge skate where the senior international pairs should be, at least as of yesterday, I didn't check today.

I managed to find it but only by going through layers. Go to schedule and results; then to US Int FS Classic; hit more; hit more again; click on Moore Towers & Moscovit's FS; underneath the video is "Event Highlights"; arrow over to the right twice; you should then see pairs free skate.

If there's an easier way, I couldn't find it.

I just went through all that, too. Here's the link I came up with:

    http://web.icenetwork.com/schedule/2...s_intl_classic

Just scroll down to Pairs after you click on the link. Actually, it says Pairs SP. I didn't go any further, though.

That means it's an hour earlier for anyone who lives in the central time zone. It looks like I'll be setting my alarm for the Ladies SP, Men's SP and the Men's FS. Coffee will definitely be on the agenda for those early hours.

Please note: Nebelhorn, in spite of being an OLYMPIC QUALIFIER FOR THE SMALLER COUNTRIES, is geoblocked.

Because obviously no-one outside the US wants to watch the little countries fight for the right to go.

Is the ISU perhaps going to stream it on their website, possibly for pay? Other times that they have done geoblocked something that makes no sense, this is just how it worked. I seem to remember watching a Jr Worlds that way-maybe it was a different competition, though.

I note that the ISU has the Nebelhorn results website accessible from www.isu.org, so they are definitely giving it more prominence than other Senior B's in the past, and it is prominently marked as an Olympic Qualifier there. There definitely is going to be videostreaming, since IN is going to have it. I doubt the ISU set that up without selling the coverage elsewhere, or perhaps proposing to sell it themselves.

Nebelhorn, I believe, is being shown via at least two sources, IN and Eurosport (a non-U.S. source). So it's pretty obvious the rights were sold via geography-based licenses.
