The 2013-14 live streaming season kicks off this month with coverage of summer events in Quebec, Alberta, BC and Central Ontario.

Reigning Olympic ice dance champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir [Short Dance debut on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 10], along with 2013 world pair bronze medallists Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford [plus US champs Marissa Castelli/Simon Shnapir and the new team of Natasha Purich/Mervin Tran], are slated to appear at the 2013 Québec Summer Figure Skating Championship August 8-11 in Boisbriand, QC.

The Wild Rose Invitational will be held August 9-11 in Calgary AB, with live streaming from both the East and West Arenas of the Don Hartman Northeast Sportsplex. Reigning Canadian women’s champion Kaetlyn Osmond is scheduled to compete in Alberta [SP is Saturday evening, Aug. 10].

The week of August 12 features another live streaming doubleheader, with the BC/YT and Central Ontario Summer competitions taking centre stage in Burnaby, BC and Thornhill, Ont. from August 15-18.

In B.C., Canadian men’s silver medallist and 2013 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships gold medallist Kevin Reynolds will compete. The ice dance team of Nicole Orford and Thomas Williams, the 2013 Canadian bronze medallists, are also scheduled to appear.

Headlining the senior men’s lineup in Thornhill is three-time world champion Patrick Chan [FS only], along with Japanese star Nobunari Oda and 2011 world junior men’s champion Andrei Rogozine. Only competition from the West Arena will be streamed at the COS Summer Skate.
