i'm surprized that chartrand is going back on the jgp, i would have thought she'd try to skate sr b's to improve her sr reputation, to get on the olympic team. I'm curious to know what daleman will do - if she'll take the same, or a different, strategy. anyway, she's still so young - best of luck to her (and all others) in the upcoming season.

Thanks Dani! Not sure how I missed Orr/Simpson - definitely looking forward to seeing them. Hopefully the ISU will continue to post JGP videos on their youtube channel.

She can do senior Bs as well as the JGP. If she can make the JGP final (tough, but possible) I think that'll enhance her reputation quite a bit. It worked for Ksenia Makarova four years ago.

Extremely disappointing. Especially since the early events are often less competitive and there would be a better chance for a good finish.

fan - I think it makes sense for Chartrand to get out on the JGP, since there is little to no chance of her ending up with a SGP slot. AFAIK, there is no restriction for skaters who want to do both Senior B events and the JGP, although it may be a challenge given scheduling of the events and trying to train both a senior and junior program. If forced to choose, JGP offers greater chance for ISU points towards a world ranking and also counts towards a Season's Best for entry on next year's SGP, so that would be the clear better choice if both can't be done.

How many ladies does Skate Canada deem good enough to fill those 14 slots? There are Daleman, Chartrand, Seguin (who is doing pairs also) and Mallet of the seniors, and Junior champion Austman. One of Daleman, Seguin or Mallet will fill the TBA at Skate Canada and therefore ineligible for JGP. None of the other age-eligible Juniors/Seniors are at the same performance level as the names mentioned.

So it seems as if there are at the moment only 4 competitive ladies, enough to fill 8 JGP slots. I sure hope Canada will allow some promising younger ladies the opportunity for international competition, without dumping unreasonable expectations on them.

I'm speculating here, but they could be waiting for the eligible ladies to skate in a summer comp to see who is the most ready to go. What do I know though

Also, don't forget about Madelyn Dunley/Marika Steward who are jr. age eligible, if I'm not mistaken.

I hope so, but I wonder if they can still add a second entry.

FYI Mallet turned 19 in June, so she is not JGP eligible.

Sotskova and Ogoreltseva are alternates. Interesting, I imagine they will get future events. I really wish that USFS would give someone other than Siraj a chance - Yasmin hasn't progressed in so long.

While I'm glad to see Divette/Utah debut on the JGP, how come is it that only one pair is going?! Waste of an opportunity given that there's only 10 pairs. Hard to sew anyone but Yu/Jin and Tarasova/Morosov and vigalova /zakroev on the podium
