It's not April 1st, but July

Miki answered the interview in one of TV programs in Japan, and announced her retirement from the eligible figure skating after Sochi Olympic and the big news she gave a baby birth last April. She also said she noticed it during she left from ice how wonderful figure skating would be! It is said she will be a first lady single skater in the history, if she can compete in a Olympic Games.

    Congratulations, Miki!!!!!
And wish her and her family good luck and happiness

I'm pretty sure Paurova-Babiakova already went to the Olympics in singles after having a baby. Still for Miki and best of luck to her with the baby & future skating appearances!

It's pretty amazing that she was able to keep this private for so long. Wow. Congratulations and good luck to her in the future.

Babiakova was the one precedent for a singles skater coming back after having a baby that I came up with, too. Obviously there have been a few in pairs and ice dance.

I hope the baby has her mother's genes for great jumping ability. Congrats to Miki, but like everyone else I am shocked by the news.

Seriously? How on earth would she have kept this a secret?

Translation please! Are we sure this isn't a niece or a friend's baby and she's just talking about how wonderful it would be if it was hers?

    How lovely!
I hear outside a million panicking birds, and know even out there comfort is done with; it has shattered even the stars, this creature at last come home to me.

This is just shocking. No wonder JSF wants to have her really prove her readiness. They were probably aware of her pregnancy and birth so they are probably quite suspicious that she will be ready to compete at Nationals.
