Thanks Varbar. Looks like the boys are training hard and forgoing their Christmas break together. Good on them. I hope they will all do well and mdeal, and that's my new year wish for 2014! Now Balde looks a bit 'constipated' in the first pix.

I wish Patrick fans a great and blessed 2014. And here's a very old 2010 vid of Granite Club Toronto Christmas Skating event .... just to get the feel of the festive mood for all.

No wonder Patrick likes training there as he looks so happy along with his skating buddies. It looks like he's been making some lasting friends there. Here's hoping he has a terrific 23rd birthday and keeps up the good vibes within himself for Sochi. I hope he has some of those great friends with him in Sochi.

^^ Yes clarie. I see a lot of smiles in the pictures. I think there is a lot of support among the athletes and from DSC. Patrick never fail to say 'hi' to his fellow athletes and people in DSC and Balde who always get the special mention at the K&C. Here's Balde and Patrick having silly fun together/pretending to be ice dancers.

Patrick is listed as one of the skaters in Detroit SC's Saturday 12/28/13 show - thread in GSD: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/show...isny-amp-more)

The skaters' footwear, is it DSC shoes? Seems to be the same color for all of them. lol Those guys are such kids off the ice. It's incredible when you think of the maturity with which they do their job on the ice.

Fun is over, back to work now.

Maybe someone going to the show will tape the performances and upload them to youtube.

This may seem like an odd question but do the singles skaters post their planned jump layout in advance of a competition? I know Patrick's jumps from having watched him so many times, but with the lesser known skaters sometimes it's hard to distinguish one jump from another in an arena.

    I think so, blueglass.

There was a thread under Great Skate Debate. I didn't know about the live streaming until skatesindreams kindly posted the link here. Patrick skated his Ex. I missed some of the live streaming as I started late and had to go for a show right after Patrick had skated. Oh yes, you could have even attended the event since London is not too far off from Detroit?

Luckiest, the show is recorded so you can still watch it. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/42191634

I personally am not aware of any site where you can find the jump content of a skater as announced in advance of a competition. But if you want to know what jumps a particular skater is going to attempt at his/her next competition, you can go and check the judges' protocol for that skater from his/her previous event. Usually skaters preserve the same jump layouts for the entire season.

blueglass, could you please elaborate on this comment you made in Virtue/Moir uber thread and explain why you put sudden onset between inverted comas? Patrick did complain about cramping like crazy in the K&C after his LP skate but I found nothing intriguing or suspicious in that.

I've read some really thought provoking comments about Chan's 'sudden onset' leg cramps at the GP final.
Here is Patrick at the DSC on youtube.

I too don't think there's anything serious about it. I get cramps too. Like Patrick said, I am sure it's all due to his 'body needing a rest'. GPF was close to TEB and the long flight may have taken a bit of toll on the body. And I am sure there will be support from the physiotherapists/sports specialists from Skate Canada to counsel Patrick.

Here's Patrick and his gang doing a selfie for Christmas. Looks like a toothpaste advert. Notice the nice sets of teeth? Mirror, mirror on the wall.. who has the perfect teeth of them all.

It's New Year Eve in Brissie now, so let me be the first one to wish Patrick a very happy birthday. Here's a cake and here's a song for you, birthday boy.

Have fun with all your DSC gang. Can't believe Patrick is 23. Time flies. I have only ONE 2014 wish ie. for Patrick to win OGM. Go go go Patrick. You can do it.

Maclean's article on Patrick - Patrick Exposed

Keep smiling Patrick. As a Patrick fan, thank you to DSC and all skaters who trained with Patrick for your wonderful support and friendship to Patrick. All the best to everyone at their respective forthcoming nationals and yay.. Sochi!
