All the best Kevin
Oh so sad to hear of Kevin's injury. The fans in Japan truly appreciate his persona. But it is a prudent thing for him not to aggravate the injury further with a long journey and a competition which does not mean as much as the upcoming Grand Prix. Heal well and fully Kevin!
Practice report by "Sportsnavi" (sorry in Japanese)
Seems the reporter doesn't know figure skating well enough to report in detail.
Rough summary(My bad translation from Japanese to English)
Abbott: He tried many jumps. He didn't do any major mistakes and checked his skating.
Bｒezina： He showed splendid step works to the music and nailed 3-3.
Buttle: Fell on 3A and landed on the second trial but shaky. He showed skilfull skating to the music.
Fernandez: His first quad trial was shaky and the second one was successful. He nailed 3-3. Seems he's in good shape.
Kozuka: He showed smooth skating to the music. He landed triple-jump(shaky), managed to land the second triple-jump and again shaky on 3-2-2. He was inconsistent with his jumps.
Takahashi: He began his practice with edge works and showed smooth stepworks to his music without trying any jump. Later he tried a quad and fell on it. He tried less jumps than other skaters.
Asada: She began her practice with routine edge works. She went into the preparation for the jumps without jumping. She showed light step works to the music but didn't show any jumps in her run through. Later she nailed some triple-jumps.
Murakami: She also didn't show any jumps in her run through. Later she tried some jumps and they were almost successful, including 3-3.
Rochette: She tried triple-jump(shaky), landed 3-2 and the last triple-jump was successful.
Sotnikova: She did successful 3-3, showed skillful footwork and the triple-jump in the second half was also successful. Seems she is in good shape.
Wagner: She fell on 3-3, landed the triple-jump in her runthrough. Later she tried triple-jumps for three times. She checked her jumps carefully.
At the end of the session other skaters were talking with their coaches or drinking water. Asada showed successful 3-3 and got a hand.
(any correction is welcome)

Wow Mao is looking as good as ever
Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but will overseas fans (I'm in US) be able to watch online or delayed? Thanks!!
Both Dai and Mao look very strong in the practice videos.
Thanks for the report, can't wait to watch this! Here's hoping Mao brings back her 3axel this season. I'll never ever forget her 2010 Olympic FS (ranks amongst my best ever, right behind Sarah Hughes). When she landed both 3axels I felt soooo empowered as a woman I honest to God wanted to run around the block a hundred times!
And my heart goes out to another favorite of mine, Kevin Reynolds, please heal fast and come back roaring for the Olympic Season! I so want to see your AC/DC program.
Mao's axel looks so casual. She makes it look like the rest of her triples. So effortless. The flip/loop is looking just perfect as well.
Nabou Sato has made her jumps look so casual and matter of fact. I am impressed. With that flutz, she needs axel and 3/3 combinations to come close to Kim.
"Sportsnavi" is doing pbp here. (Sorry in Japanese)

Shame there isn't any. TV Tokyo begins airing the recorded program in 4 hours. Figure Skating is barely popular there so they want to air it in the prime time.
