    Here's a good one:

Laurent Tobel at 1999 Skate Canada - Fire alarm goes off in the middle of his program, but everyone thinks it's part of the music, LOL

I spoke to Tim and Dean after they got back from Nationals, and they couldn't believe they got close to the ice let alone on it. After the stunt they ran into the pres of US Figure Skating and they said he just chuckled. They thought for sure they were in trouble. But the judges were laughing hard over it. NBC wanted them to recreate it but there wasn't time and they never got close to the ice other then when they were skating after that.

Also, #tobelwuzrobbed - that mark from the USA judge was a disgrace. Plus he should have got bonus points for Austin Powers and audience laughter. And not being too put off by the fire alarm that no-one even blinked at!

On the Canadian SOI version of the "Fun and Games" Olympic parody group number, Brian Orser ("Swifty") is introducing the judges by saying they're "unbiased, knowledgeable and unfailingly fair" - at which point Lloyd Eisler mouths to the audience, "bull$hit." It's not on youtube but you can download it on Kurtfiles.

This thread almost makes me want to start a poll to see how many people find humour in the misfortune of others. (Strange...!)

Didn't they wreak havoc in the warmup group too because they didn't know where they were going? I seem to remember something about that.

However, the fish-dive lift was quite nice.

This is a bit off the topic, but I'd highly recommend the 1938 Popeye cartoon called "A Date to Skate." This features Popeye and Olive Oyl at a roller skating rink, with Popeye trying to teach Olive how to skate -- and things go downhill from there. It's available on DVD Popeye cartoon compilations, and is also posted on YouTube.

I also remember a very funny 1974 movie, titled "Roll, Freddie, Roll," starring Tim Conway. His character in the movie was trying to set the world's record for longest duration wearing roller skates. I don't know if this is available for viewing today, but it had some great laughs.

I think at the time they were considered a safety hazard because their slowness meant they were a danger to the other teams.
When you are up to your arse in alligators it is difficult to remember you were only meant to be draining the swamp.

I had a rough day, reliving a lot of these has helped

My contribution -- Mysliveckova & Novak's 2010-2011 completely random-ass WTF music selections for their FD... had me (and half of FSU) in such fits of laughter that tears were streaming down my face while watching Ice Network http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuyVjhi1Poc

Oh my god I think I just broke a rib laughing.

This needs to be brought back and updated. I would LOVE to see Doug's impressions of some of the modern skaters...

I loved it, too! All his interpretations were spot-on, but my fave men were his Dick Button and Paul Wylie (truly inspired); my fave woman was his Tonya!

And not only was it clever, funny and entertaining, but he also got some great marks!
