Congratulations to Jordan Moeller for being named the overall winner of USFS' 2013 Athlete Alumni Ambassador (3A) award - press release: http://www.usfigureskating.org/Story...252&type=media
The 3A award is a scholarship program that recognizes skaters who have achieved figure skating excellence while actively volunteering.
    ...
Jordan Moeller, Northern Ice SC (overall) - Last year, Moeller raised $6,600 for Children's Oncology Services, Inc., by planning and organizing the fundraiser "One Skate At A Time." He is currently organizing a second benefit, set for May 25, 2013 at Southeast Ice Arena. Moeller's volunteer work includes working with St. Paul Church and Youth Group, the CitySkate outreach program, Sunday Snacks, a group that provides food for homeless individuals, and planting trees in his community. Moeller also volunteers at club competitions, performs in several benefits and is a member of the Aviation Club, St. Paul Contemporary Band and National Honor Society. Moeller most recently competed in the junior men's event at the 2013 Prudential U.S. Championships, where he placed fifth.
Moeller won the Junior Men's gold medal in his international debut at Gardena Spring Trophy last month and is expected to make his JGP debut in the coming season.

Local article about Jordan Moeller and his cancer fundraiser (includes photos of Moeller): http://southtownstar.suntimes.com/ne...undraiser.html
    Excerpt:
For the second time in two years, Jordan Moeller and friends are skating to help kids with cancer.

The “One Skate At A Time” figure skating exhibition will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. [Saturday] May 25 at Southwest Ice Arena, 5505 W. 127th St., Crestwood. Once again, it is a benefit for One Step At A Time, a charity that helps kids with cancer.

Moeller, 18, is a figure skater who graduates May 23 from Richards High School in Oak Lawn. Last year, he learned of Julia Fischer, a Shephard High School student who had cancer and survived, through Julia’s aunt, Deb Swanson, a teacher at Richards High School.
    ...
Right now, his main goal is making sure the charity benefit goes off without a hitch.

“I’m proud of him for taking his talent and being able to help others. It’s a really good feeling,” Martha Moeller said.

Last year, a pairs skating team from Minnesota [Olivia Oltmanns & Joshua Santillan] “gave me a check for just more than $2,000 and that was money they raised in their area for this,” Moeller said.

About two dozen skaters will be showcasing their talents, he said. Tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children ages 6 through 12. Children age 5 and younger get in for free. Southwest Ice Arena management is donating use of the ice.
Here's hoping some people from FSU will attend!
