I liked About A Boy...charming, quirky; hope they can sustain the quality. I'll continue to watch it...for now.

I thought the writing was really great and the performances did the script justice. I'll definitely be tuning in again also.
It's official. I am madly in love with Meryl Davis.

I've posted many times saying I wanted "Heroes" rebooted since it was canceled. It's finally happening with "Heroes Reborn"!!!:

The ads looked good, but I didn't catch the first episode. Maybe I'll try and catch up.

I really liked About a Boy, and the one that immediately followed it (on Global), Growing Up Fisher. It's been ages since I've liked a sitcom that much the first episode out of the gate, never mind two.

It was interesting that they basically condensed the entire plot of the book (and movie) into the first single 22 minute episode for About a Boy. That was a wise choice I thing: when I first read that they were going to sitcomize it I was worried how they'd handle the expected arc of Will's character growth. By getting it all out of the way at the beginning, now they move on from there.

Growing Up Fisher was an even bigger surprise for me. I don't know how they managed to do it without it being exploitative, but they did. I'm less confident about the sustainability of this one, but for now, thumbs up.

I'm not sure we need another hospital drama but the trailers I've seen for this didn't suck (how's that for damning with faint praise?) so I'll probably check it out -- esp. since it comes on right after Almost Human, and there's nothing else in that timeslot I watch.
Well, I watched ... and I liked. They got some obligatory characters and storylines out right away, but no doubt they'll develop from there.

I was also delighted to see an appearance by Martha Burns, one of my favourite Canadian actors. For some reason she wasn't listed as a cast member in the promo materials I saw -- I hope that doesn't mean it will be a one-off for her.

I like seeing my geek favorites on other Sci-Fi shows. Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine from Star Trek:Voyager) just guest starred on "Helix" as the bad guy/girl.

Anyone else been watching SYFY Mondays? "Bitten" Being Human" and "Lost Girl" are all good shows.

The American version of "Being Human" is 10 times better than the British version. Which I didn't expect.

New episode of About A Boy tonight at 9p ET/8p CT.

EDIT: NOT a new episode...they're re-airing the pilot episode.

I accidentally caught the repeat of About a Boy and got hooked! I had absolutely no desire to watch it but we happened to catch the end of The Voice and left the TV on. The show started and I just found myself laughing. I thought it was genuinely funny and not at all corny and I love the casting.

I know this isn't the thread for it, but I didn't want to start another one. Heroes is coming back...interesting. I loved Season 1, but felt it fell flat after that. But a reboot could have potential.

I liked About a Boy and Growing Up Fisher also. Really the only new sitcoms in the last few years that have me drawn in right at the first episode. I'll keep them on my schedule.

Is Mind Games worth it? I taped it but probably won't watch it until the weekend. I watch way too many shows now and don't know if I want to get into yet another 1 hour drama, but I love Christian Slater so maybe if the show is worth it I'll just have to tape around Chicago Fire and watch it later.

I agree; I liked Boy more than Fisher, but they are both fresh and funny.

I liked what I saw. Unfortunately CityTV in Canada decided to dump it at the last second -- I came home at 10:20 to find it recording something else instead. I immediately switched over to ABC and watched the rest but it was very hard to follow without the character introductions. I'll see if I can find it elsewhere.
