Can you name one similarity between Figure Skating and Pro Wrestling?

I wrote an article entitled Can you name one similarity between Figure Skating and Pro Wrestling?, it's part of a column I've started on the site where I make an apparently absurd question out there on the web and then reflect upon the answers I get (well, sometimes not so much). I hope you enjoy it.

I also started a crowdfunding project for the Music and Routines Database, you'll find a link to it on the site, if you can contribute monetarily or by spreading the word, it's much appreciated.

    Thank you!

They are both essentially individualistic sports? (Even the dance and pairs, it is only two people, as opposed to a full "team" like in many sports such as soccer, football, baseball, basketball, etc)

Especially ~20+ years ago, I would have said that a similarity between Wrestling and Figure Skating is that in both cases the amateur version is a sport and the professional version is show business.

    Drama.
"I miss footwork that has any kind of a discernible pattern. The goal of a step sequence should not be for a skater to show the same ice coverage as a Zamboni and take about as much time as an ice resurface. " ~ Zemgirl, reflecting on a pre-IJS straight line sequence

If anything this certainly is a different thread topic than the usual "Who is better" threads.

I vote for lots of flouncy and prancing around. And Over the top expressions.

    Why, yes I can
"Protect your partner", "make your partner look good as well as yourself" and "Tell a story" are just as important in pro wrestling as they are in skating.
Audiences for both like to see great costumes and charismatic performances, and really appreciate well done elements and thoughtfully planned performances.
However, one big difference that I've mentioned before is that at least pro wrestling is honest about being fixed :p

Wrestlers Blade themselves, and skaters wear blades.

    Triple H and triple jumps.

The Big Show and ice shows.

    The Undertaker and underrotation.

    Lots of falls.

    Divas.

    Edge and edges.

    Chris Benoit and Christopher Bowman.
