Always On My Mind -- Pet Shop Boys version (as opposed to Willie Nelson )

AOMM - PSB version (radio edit)

(No harm, no foul, aftershocks -- it worked out without either song having to be ignored )

    So What? -- Ministry

So What? (Studio Version from the album "A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste)

(Long-ass song, but so worth it when it kicks in around 1:44 and the actual lyrics get going). It's the perfect "pissed off at the world" song" .

Jesus Built My Hot Rod -- Ministry

    Jesus Built My Hot Rod

The song was co-written with Gibby Haynes of the Butthole Surfers) and one of Ministry's best songs, performed at an insanely fast speed).

Regarding the album title, it was originally referred to as Psalm 69, wit the title written as ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ, meaning "a concatenation of "κεφαλή" (Greek for "head" or "leader") and "ΞΘ" (the number 69 in Greek numerals)." The title was borrowed from Alistair Crowley's work: The Book of Lies (aka Chapter 69, "The Way to Succeed—and the Way to Suck Eggs!"). Ultimately, the album title became "Chapter 69, The Way to Succeed—and the Way to Suck Eggs!" .

Trivia for Marge Simpson and/or anyone else (unless y'all already know this, in which case, on my part)

That song (and his debut album "With Sympathy"), is one of the most hilarious things to listen to, given the type of music Alain J. ultimately ended up making. He has pretty much disowned that album and phase of his life due to the twee Casio percussion and poppy-boppy sound their "band" made back in 1982-1983 , and if IIRC, he will destroy any With Sympathy album he comes into content with (regardless of who owns it )

The other tracks on that album (which I have on vinyl ) also contains these gems:

Revenge. For your viewing pleasure, the youtube vid. is the actual music video for Revenge that aired on MTV in heavy rotation back in the early days

With Sympathy also spawned this gem:

Effigy (alas, no video is available for viewing mocking )

In between With Sympathy and The Land of Rape and Honey, Ministry released an EP titled 12" Singles 1981- 1984 that contained the song Every Day is Halloween. Here's the Wikipedia page detailing this EP release).

The "Oom-Oom Pa-Pa Oom-Oom Pa-Pa" bit in the chorus of Halloween never fails to send me convulsing in the floor laughing until I damn near pee my pants :rofl.

No wonder The Land of Rape and Honey was such a drastic departure from the poppy-boppy utter shite he was previously putting out.

//Knows way too much (including TMI) about Jourgensen and his early music endeavors. It's a complete 180 degree turnaround from his angry, vitriolic rant directed at Bush 41 in N.W.O. -that appeared on not only on his album Psalm 69, but also on the soundtrack to the movie Cool World.
