Turkish 1500m champion busted for doping

Asli Cakir facing lifetime ban after doping charge

Doped up Nevin Yanit also caught!
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

Nevin Yanit should have been excluded from the team last summer, when she refused the tests by the Turkish National Olympic Committee. I don't think anybody in Turkey doubts that she is doped up. You just have to look at how she has physically changed. What is it all for? Which country needs this kind of publicity?

I'll wait to see about Asli Cakir. She hasn't tested positive for any substances for nearly ten years, despite being very regularly tested on and off-competition and she hasn't tested positive this time either. Apparently any unimportant illness can change the data on the biological passport, so there is a tiny glimmer of hope that she may not be currently doped.

BTW, I dislike the trend in Turkey of so many of the important female athletes being married to their coaches. It is of course their own business, but this must increase the influence of their coach on their decisions and add enormous pressure.

Dopers are bad people who ruin the integrity of sport.

But it seems like more the norm now rather than an exception.

I hope the second doping Turkish medalist in this race is stripped so the clean bronze medalist can win the gold she deserves, especialy coming back so well from her 2008 heartbreak.
