Can I start a poll about which Alien will beat Yuna Kim at Sochi?
I guess the hard thing for a lot of people to accept is why God would allow me to go running through their yards, yelling and spinning around.

say that they are already here and have infiltrated both the figure skating technical specialists and judging panels. It helps explain a lot about some of the results this past year.

Why do aliens go to boring places like Wyoming and trailer parks? We need a better class of ETs before they're made public. I'd keep them in hiding too. Aliens can't be looking a mess when they come out, and you know they're a mess if that's the only places that will have them.

You go, Mr. Obama. You tell those otherworldly beings to stay away until they get their tiaras and feathers out.

I really do hope there are aliens out there because it is kinda boring to think we are the only ones here. LOL
I love the Mary Celeste. That, along with The Voynich Manuscript and the Mysterious death of Isadore Fink are probably my favorite Historical Mysteries. Hmmm, I wonder if any of them can read the Voynich Manuscript?

and maybe it might help for them to realise it's hard to sneak around at night with BRIGHT LIGHTS? Just sayin'

I read somewhere on the interwebs that if you have small, pointish ears you likely have Alien ancestry. I do, and have been suppressing this for many years.

Though I am likely of Alien descent, I really have no idea what my kind are doing with cows, trailer parks, or Wyoming.

Meh, Aliens are boring. I always skipped the X-File episodes with Aliens.

I didn't know that this thread was serious. I thought you were poking fun of the people who think that.

I firmly believe life is out there (and surely some intelligent) but I don't believe anyone has come here, at least not since humans have been on earth. It would take an insanely advanced life form to be able to travel so far through space, land here and do whatever they want and still return home (or return information home). I would think the only thing that would motivate a civilization that much would be if they needed a new planet and they wouldn't just come here to put fun shapes in our corn fields.

Maybe it's all relative. Considering all the life forms that could be out there, maybe there are many that are something so advanced compared to us that we seem like slugs.

You've watched too many Hollywood blockbusters. Maybe there are peaceful civilizations (imagine that!) who spend their energy building and exploring rather than fighting and killing. Perhaps they want to share what they've achieved with other civilizations. (And maybe those corn field markings mean something?)

It just so happened that I turned on TV today to the channel where Independence Day was on, exactly to the Area 51 part. I can never resist that movie.

As to the alien intelligent life and all, I don't know. How should I know?

Off to Google Mary Celeste. ETA: ooooooooh

Serious is in the eye of the beholder.

I get a kick out of the whole UFO thing. There are constant reports of them and its interesting to see what they are about.

If we're going to be drearily scientific about it, the likelihood of visits from life forms from elsewhere in the universe is extremely unlikely. But its a cultural and social phenomenon that people think they see them all the time! Or at least wonder what those weird lights in the sky are.

I think the search for exoplanets is interesting as well, but not as fun.

^^ Well, the Earth is heading for the same state in which Mars currently exists. Little do we realize, everything goes in cycles...

Frankly, there's lots of stuff going on in our Universe and in other Universes that just ain't visible to human eyes. Seriously!

But that is looking at things from the point of view that we're the most evolved beings in the entire universe. Maybe we are like amoebas compared to many, many civilizations in other parts of the universe. As for space travel, even us amoebas have been to another planet. Well...a moon, anyway. (Unless that's been disproven in the conspiracy theory thread...)

I think we are the most evolved life in the universe.

And even if we are not, who is to say that a life form vastly more evolved than us--or more properly vastly more intelligent-- wouldn't choose to stay on its home planet? Maybe intelligence would tell us something that would lead us not to explore the universe? If we're not the most "evolved" than how would we know?
