Sad to hear this news. I became a fan of hers watching her movies on TCM.
RIP Ms. Durbin.
My granny and I used to watch all her movies when I was a kid. When dementia set in, Deanna Durbin was one of the few people granny remembered and watching a Deanna Durbin movie was a sure way of calming her down. Thank you Deanna Durbin and rest in peace.
My mom adored Deanna Durbin, and as soon as she could, collected the VHS tapes of her movies. We would sit and watch them together.
RIP Deanna, and thanks for the memories.
Thanks for the memories. R.I.P.

I hadn't realized she was still living up to this point. Sorry to hear this, RIP.

As a young woman, my mother was often told she looked like Deanna Durbin, who was about two years younger. My father hated Deanna Durbin's singing!
Loved her in Three Smart Girls. Didn"t know she was still alive either... preferred her to Judy, actually.
Watched her movies on Saturday nights with my mom when i was young... good memories...
I also remember watching Deanna Durbin movies with my Mom when I was a kid. I recall one scene where she's trying to sneak somewhere, and the feather on her hat keeps sticking up and giving her away.

In my spare time, I like to interview figure skating legends.
Indeed, they are among the few iconic performers of the "Golden Age" who are still living.

WW2 fundraiser called, The Shining Future. Deanna Durbin appears at 8 mins 35 secs in. She sings Begin The Beguine, and the clip originally came from her film, Hers to Hold. Hers to Hold was actually the second sequel to Three Smart Girls. The first was Three Smart Girls Grow Up.
