Thanks Sylvia! What I find remarkable about this year’s camp is that some of the candidates for the two remaining host picks in the women’s event at Skate Canada are still young enough to be taking part.

It's strange that Leslie Ip would be here, when as Sylvia pointed out (and as this post confirmed) he was apparently planning to skate for Hong Kong, or at least was at their nationals. Perhaps he has since decided against it. I don't think Skate Canada would invite someone to their training camp who is intending to skate for a different country, would they?

Love seeing these kids learning and having fun. Such camps are invaluable not only in terms of imparting skills to the younger generation, but act as a powerful motivation to these young talented skaters. I hope to see these faces in the Worlds some day! All the best kids! Work hard, play hard ..... you will get there some day.

I wonder why Veronik Mallet was not included - is she not the right age?

This was an amazing opportunity for the young skaters. I am sure they worked and listened hard to the world-class coaches. I continue to think that Michael Slipchuk is a great force for skater development.

It would be nice to see them invite or hold a separate camp for pair and dance teams.... but I guess with all the splits this year it would be a pretty small group

Maybe. But perhaps such a camp would encourage more skaters to take up these disciplines, and maybe even facilitate the forming of some new partnerships.

That's possible in case some may decide to go pairs or ice dancing.
