I wanted to add to the info I'd posted at the top of this page re: the CNN interview with the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee: he'd also said that the two people being held on immigration charges - the two arrested in New Bedford - were among the persons of interest, because one of them, from Kazhakstan and a student at UMass Dartmouth, was shown in the "I went to Times Square with all of my friends" photo of Dzhokhar. He did not say that this made the guy from Kazhakstan part of the bombing at all, just that it made him someone they wanted to talk to.

Best account I've read thus far about what happened at the shootout. The reporter, Kevin Cullen, is a respected beat reporter.

Not to doubt anyone's account, but that account says the brothers were in two cars when they got to Watertown for the shootout, whereas they were in one car at the time that carjack victim escaped. Did they go from the gas station to another car and have one brother get in the other car? That seems odd, but I guess that's the implication.

This was the first that I had heard about two cars, but it makes sense -- how would they have had the explosives in the carjacked vehicle? They would have had at least to go somewhere to get them, because they sure weren't in the car when they hijacked Danny. Also, when they shot Officer Collier near the MIT campus, they presumably would have not gone there on foot, but in some vehicle they had before the carjacking.

But the carjack victim tells the story that the older brother got in with him, the younger brother was in the other car and they transfered stuff from the other car and both got in his car before they stopped at the gas station.

The Copley area is one of my favorite areas in Boston and I am definitely willing to support all the restaurants and bars in the area. For chocolate lovers, I'd recommend going to L.A. Burdick on Clarendon, which was closed off last weekend. Some of the best hot chocolate I've ever had.

    Thanks for posting these links.

I wish the the Boston PD would be a little more forthcoming with what they know about the source of the shots fired while he was in the boat. It just seems evasive that there is no more known about this now than that night, except that the suspect was supposedly unarmed. I realize they probably don't want to focus on any potential mistakes made during the events, but they must have a pretty good understanding by now of what the shots were.

If crowds at 10:00 today are any indication, Boylston is Back is going to be a huge success. There were 50 people in line at Marathon Sports when it opened. The owner was on hand, thanking folks for coming back. I told the staff that I hoped they sold out quickly and could repurpose that fitting room as a kegerator station!
