I must say I was surprised about the Phantom of the Opera choice, but with Pasquale Camerlengo choreographying it, I am hoping that we will get different music cuts than the usual.....

I am really excited about Hymne à l'amour though: if any of the current ladies can express its nuances and nostalgic feel, it must be Akiko

I actually love Akiko's program choices. If anyone can breathe some life into an old standby like Phantom Of The Opera, she can I think.

Can't say I'm thrilled with the music choices, but I have faith in Akiko. I'm curious to see what Scali has put together for her, has he worked with any high-profile skaters in the past?

    It's the Olympic season people!

Chances are, the majority of skaters are going to go safe and use 'the greatest hits of skating'. Get used to it.

I'd rather she just use this past season's LP again.

I'm guessing that we've been given a hint from Kaitlyn and Andrew. 42nd Street for their SD? They'd knock it out.

    Really nice!
Can someone identify the individual songs in this Latin/Cha Cha medley?

Two of the songs, but not the specific bands playing them, yes...

First song - Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White
    Second song- Besame Mucho

The last one is really familiar, but I can't remember where I heard it (it sounds more like salsa than cha cha though).

    Thanks, Impromptu!

misskarne has posted a description and video link to Jason Brown's debut of his "Riverdance" FS (still a work-in-progress), choreographed by Rohene Ward, here: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/show...=1#post3947990

Very nice programs for Brown. What a lot of talented 17yo kids - Hanyu, Brown, Farris and Yan. Can't wait to see who will prevail and dominate in the next couple of years. Hanyu is the kid to beat for now.

Either that or he will follow in the footsteps of Adam Rippon. Only time will tell.

Jason has an excellent CoP program with transitions into most if not all his jumps. I wish him the very best of luck in the new season.

Thanks to misskarne for the video links.

FWIW, Camerlengo choreographed Weaver/Poje's 2009/10 FD to "Phantom of the Opera" for those wondering about music cuts.

Well, Adam Rippon isn't exactly the worst skater out there

I really enjoy the steps sequence of the LP - LOVE the choreo of the SP. You can tell that he really enjoys exploring the possibilities that the music offers in terms of interpretation, and that's a welcome sight: the sport definitely needs more skaters like that!

Ah I had forgotten it was him who choreographed it! Thank you

^^ Ah yeah, well I think it's a good thing for all the skaters to follow in their own footsteps/ bootsteps. And hooray hooray ain't it a good thing neither Adam nor Jason will be following in your footsteps VarBar and Emdee.

I'm not seeing what everyone else is and certainly not what you did. Maybe it'll look better to me with more mileage on the program and better camera work/sound.

You are joking, right? Even if you do think he has that kind of potential, those would be some pretty big boots to fill for a skater who is 18 and has yet to debut as senior.

Hanyu, Farris and Brown are 18 (born within a month of each other, actually), but point taken

If they did follow in MY footsteps their feet would be better secured to the ground!
