Chan's free skate is to 4 Seasons. Don't know if it's the same as his previous program to that music, but either way, it will be 3 seasons of using that piece.

The piece does have "4" seasons to it so he still has room...

Maybe he's doing Eight Seasons and it's the other four seasons? Or P/B's Four Seasons?

Yeah, I guess not. Too bad, a cotton ball costume would be fun.

If it *is* the Vivaldi piece, I think it will suit his skating style very well. He's very big and grandiose, lots of choreography, movement, etc. so I think it'll work.

I agree it will suit him well (and did suit him when he did it originally). I do wish he was skating to something different, maybe Glazunov's Seasons instead, but I'm sure Patrick's program will be effective.

Vivaldi 4 seasons will be a perfect vehicle for Chan.
Music which is great to display a pure skating.
I liked Chan's 0708 vivaldi LP. The awesome step sequence.

Going by their theme of posting photoshoot pics for their programs, Weaver and Poje's FD is María de Buenos Aires by Piazzolla

That would be great: "Maria de Buenos Aires" has a lot of great music.

Well, I love the Four Seasons and it'd be nice to see someone win gold with it some day. I'm far from being a fan of Chan's, but I think if he had to go back to an old routine/music, then Four Seasons is a great choice.

Interestingly enough, Chan's Four Seasons FP is not entirely from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. There are sections from "Summer" and "Winter," but the middle section is from Corelli's "Christmas Concerto."

Snip-bits of Adelina Sotnikova's new LP:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GI9e....be&nomobile=1

It's a techno-y modern remix of Saint-Saëns's Rondo Capriccioso, I believe. I'm not totally sold on it yet, but snaps for *someone* finally taking choreographic risks during an Olympic year. Yey?

With Chan, it's never the program that I worry. It doesn't have to be an artistic masterpiece, it just has to be an effective vehicle for him to show off his many wonderful skating qualities. He beat the eventual World Champion with that program in 2008 at Nationals, he can certainly win an Olympics with it.

I am more interested in his training.

This is probably the second half of her free program and that at least means she isn't totally reusing her 2011 program which was purely classical version. And at least she isn't keeping that howler monkey program from last season. But there goes my wish of having her reprise Swan Lake.

I always liked 4 Seasons by Vivaldi. Many skaters have used it in all disciplines, yet, this is one few pieces of music which doesn't tire me even after hearing it often, especially the summer and winter parts.

I love that you used "howler monkey", I just got a great flashback to Golden Girls.

Swan Lake could have worked beautifully for her...but I shudder to think what dress they'd come up with for Sotnikova. Maybe Shizuka can lend her the techno-bondage dress she wore to the same music in 2004?
