So far my favorites k&C moments, the french team doing Jouberian butt swinging and the canadians introducing Patrick the moose.

I liked the vibrating arms and hands that the Chinese team did.

I wish Abbott landed that flip and won the short, just for the firestorm it would set off about the necessity of quad jumps.

I applaud the brave judge that gave Chan a 7.75 for P/E

Calling was sooooooo lenient! And again, Chan got gifted a level 4 CCSp when it's an intended level 3. :p (Unless he changed the spin he's been doing all season and I missed something)

    Protocols tell the tale.

Both the quad and triple axel were rotated for Chan, and he got all level four elements.

Takahashi got >> on the quad, -GOE on his combo becuase of the landing, and all three spins were level 3.

Abbott is still giving away points on his spins.

Although, somehow, Joubert managed level 4 on all his spins! He just picked up -GOE on the combo and lipping the flip and the rest of the GOE for his elements weren't that great.

It usually isn't that high, and a 4-2 with a stepout didn't help him much... at least he got decent levels, that doesn't always happen either.

With the gaps between most of the skaters so small - less than 5 points between 2-8 - the standings are pretty much meaningless at this point. Maybe Dai can have a great LP performance like last year and win again

But it's not a combined competition. Your team gets points based on your SP ranking, and LP ranking, not combined. :p

No, that's not true; the current standings are interim. The combined placement is what counts. Unless they've changed it from last year.

I think the problem is people *still* don't understand the protocols.. perhaps the only way some will understand is to change the system and go back to just who doesn't fall down

I think people understand the protocols very wel, they just think that the protocols do not represent so well what we see on the ice.

And, yes, at the rate this is goingn ISU better introduce a new bonus - for "staying on your f$&^ing feet".

I don't disagree with adding more deductions for falls.. but the rest of the system with the protocols has improved the level of skating and created much higher skills level in other areas.. he who jumps most and doesn't fall doesn't necessarily win.. at least now the skater who is best overall is rewarded.. but I don't disagree with having a bigger penalty for falls - but thats a system issue not a skater issue..
