Now seriously. She did not have a chance to qualify for Sochi. It will be between Sotnikova, Tuktamysheva, Lipnitskaya and Leonova (if she pulls herself together). Look at Makarova's results from her GP events for the last two years. We are not talking about one bad competition, we are talking about constantly low results. It is only last two years though, before that she used to be a stronger skater.

I suddenly have a strange desire to listen to Rod Stewart songs...

I'm all for experimenting, but I hope he changes back, I think it looks terrible. I also hope Yuko doesn't get her bowl cut back either.

Interview with Evgeni Rukavitsin, coach of Konstantin Menshov, Vladislav Sezganov, Polina Agafanova, Maria Artemieva (he also mentions Gordei Gorshkov and a few others in his group in St. Petersburg, and states that Ksenia Makarova will miss the next season): http://nvspb.ru/stories/nujno-samomu...realnost-51424
    Via Google Translate:
    - Do not give up on the athlete if he did not show a peak at age 20 and did not win at this point the World Junior Championships. This does not mean that the athlete is not able to show a high level later. He can give it to 22-23, and then in 25 years, and others never dreamed of. Another thing is that he will then give it time. What do I need to do? I, on the other hand, constantly motivate athletes. Inspire them, try to put their faith in the sport. And the ultimate success including. I do this not because he did not believe, and the athlete must be made to believe. It does not work. You need to trust yourself - in sports, in the sportsman and what you're doing. Need to re-create reality. Do you believe the athlete believes, and then everything was really going on. That is correct. Someone has to do it. We have the same subjective sport. There is no such - out of nowhere, ran the fastest and won. Need to constantly protect and improve their position. You're all of a sudden purely passed, and you immediately backfilled points nines put - it's a fantasy. You'll start with a 6.75 at best - with 7.00. Here's the season so you go for a drive - you will notice. Next - put great program even more about myself applicants. Best of all - surprising. And then for you unattended and will be judged properly. Yes, it is more difficult than if you "lead" from a young age. But the more difficult path for anyone not closed. We just need to believe in their athletes. We must make them believe in themselves.
"Randy [Starkman (1960-April 16, 2012)] lived by the same motto as the rest of us. The Olympics isn’t every four years, it’s every single day. He just got it." --Canadian Olympic kayaker Adam van Koeverden

My first thought was Harpo Marx.

You'd think with his wife being a hair designer and stylist that he'd be able to get a better "look." Please change it back, Sasha.

Yuko needs to match his hair color now. Are they skating to a Marilyn Monroe tribute?
